think tomkins needs to go to nrl to step up his career and if wigan don't win anything soon i think he may be looking elsewhere (nrl)

think you need to go to trolling night school.

Although I'd say it would probably be in his best interests to wait a few years, just look at how much Sam Burgess and Mark Flanaghan have come on in their development since being in the NRL. Add to that Burgess was already a very good player.

If (which is looking very possible) Wigan win the GF and the challenge cup over the next year or two what else in theory is there as a target for someone as young as Sam? The NRL would be the next logical step - regardless of how long his contract may be for.

If GB / England are going to compete with the Aussies and Kiwis we need a few of our younger players plying their trade in the NRL at least while SL is of a significantly lower standard to the NRL.

On a bit of a side note, who was the last half-back to play in the NRL? I know we've had forwards with Mozza, Flanagan, Ellis, Burgess and co but i cant think of the last half-back for love nor money.

it doesn't surprise me TBH, and I wouldn't be angry of Sam if/when he chose eventually to move on to the NRL. IMO he needs a few more seasons in SL before he should consider the NRL.
