From what I've heard about him, I wouldn't describe him as a 'top prospect'. I'd describe him as an okay player in an okay team.

If thats the reason then good riddance. You have to earn your place in our team, if he doesnt like that he wouldnt get anywhere at Wigan. Considering some people on here who have seen him a few times dont think hes that good then i doubt anybody at the club will be crying about it  |

The lad has probably weighed up his future options.
Wigan have a plethora of young back row forwards, Hansen, Tomkins, Mossop, Farrell,Tuson and Walker.
Behind them in the U18's they have Bridge, Molloy and Hughes.
He would have to be exceptional to get in ahead of those players.

Joe Mellor signed for wigan because they offered him over double what warrington did.

There's no guarantee he'll make it and if Warrington are offering an extra 5k per year over 3 years for example he'd be mad not to take it.
He could easily be cut from the Wigan squad when he turns 19/20 and be left playing semi-pro/amateur RL.
Good luck to him - i'm sure given he was in negotiations with Wigan already that he's not taken this decision lightly.

unsure if sean had a fallout with cullen or not... what i do know is that Joe was more impressed with what wigan had to say to him about his future.. and also what they were offering to put in his pocket. |
