| Another reason to get some Lancashire teams in super league when the next franchise comes in. Widnes and Leigh in place of a couple of Yorkshire teams would do our average attandances a world of good.

| They are having a go on their message board about the Quins v Crusaders attendance. Both brought as many to Wigan as Cas did today, and on a Friday.

| Shocking turnout by the Cas fans, but I thought 14000 was pretty good, considering.
Sunday games are easier for us to get to, and it makes a nice change to get home before 1.00 am!!

| The crowd was boosted by the community day which they held today in the town.

| I too was surprised at the very poor turn out from cas, especially for a Sunday. Only they could say why. Maybe the past few seasons they've come here optomistic of a good result and this year with the form the two sides are in they thought better of it?
As for the atmosphere... very flat. I'm sampling quite a few games in the East this season as I've been without my West Stand ST for the last two seasons. I must say I haven't founf the atmosphere in there to be all that given the reputation it has over the West. Having said that, I really love the view from up at the back. Certainly having no away fans can't help create an atmosphere but there's only stains and wire left to play who will bring decent numbers with them and stains is a Sunday. 14000 still a good effort I reckon today.

| The DW/JJB, call it what you will, isn't conducive to generating any sort of atmosphere with anything less the 20K inside simply because we are too spread out. I've been to games at the KC with 11-12K attendances and the atmosphere has been great simply because they don't open the upper tier of the main stand meaning more people are closer to the pitch.
We need to look at doing something similar but given the design of our stadium, the only way would be to rope off the rear sections of seats. I doubt that would go down well with a lot of people, especially season ticket holders with reserved seats in East/West, but it seems a bit pointless having the more vocal fans in the higher sections of the ground where they can hardly be heard. Anything further back than row six gives a pretty good view of the game anyway.

Yes exactly, sod off!
Simple for me. No away fans = no or flat atmosphere. They get a cheap deal at Wigan as well but don't bother coming. This is why we need to axe one of either Cas or Wakefield. Neither are big enough for the league to give them both a licence when we have Widnes and Leigh with far better stadiums ready to come in.

On that showing, Cas are certainly in danger of joining that list of clubs for whom the DW Stadium north stand doesn't even get opened.
Leigh would have half-filled it, even with nothing to play for.

I dont know if your serious but i think your right, the fans seem sick and tired of losing aswell as what some of the backroom staff have done
A spell in NL1 will allow them to get rid of matterson and the mercenaries they are carrying, win some games and maybe some silverware
Widnes to come up and bring 750-1000 to wigan
