Unlikely to see that it would, it's just a chance to get a try off one tackle as opposed to often a certainty of 2 points. Just like in the NFL the 1 point option is the one most likely to be taken for the much higher probability of scoring it

All that will happen is that the attacking team will tap the ball take a drive and hand the ball over in the opposition 10.

Better than a kick off and you don't waste energy chasing the ball

Why not introduce 1 point for tackling players in the in goal similar to a safety in A.football

Rather you could take the two and kickoff from halfway or choose to have the opponents to drop out from under the sticks and start play normally from there. Shows whether you want the points or to stack on the pressure, and would make big comebacks more exciting.

The one play without a kick seemed pretty easy to defend against and with a kick it would just be boring. I'm not a fan of the one play.

i can remember a game at galpharm last year involving the giants but cant remember who they were playing maybe catalan and the giants were losing and they had scored a try and they went to line up an goal instead they drop kicked it and was waved away i think by the touches as you can only do it from a penalty.

Tackled in your own in goal area or knocking the ball out dead instead of a drop goal give the attacking side an option.

1. Give the attacking side 1 point and ball is given to defending side on the 20. So gain a point but lose possession

2. No point and restart with a drop goal as usual
