if the ref is right or not the decision has been made so accept it and debate it after the game.

There's plenty of room for this stuff in RL until the ref’s are brought down a peg or two. Refs ruin good games (Hull KR for example) and no matter how they perform they are backed to the hilt by Cummings and the rest of the bent bar-stewards at the RFL. Cummings audacity to come out and say Wigan need a new hooter is proof of how far they will go to hide the fact they got it wrong.

It’s no wonder players are getting increasingly frustrated with the pre Madonna’s we’ve ruining our game with a whistle.

If you accept it, say nothing and don't stand up to it then nothing will ever change. Ref's need to be brought to account the moment they make a balls up not two or three days later when the result is in the bag.

Going away from abusing the ref, I'm getting sick of the ref going to the screen for every possible chance of not giving the try. IMO the video ref should only be used to check the grounding, not going to check any obsrutcion as the ref or touches should be able to make those decisions by themselves on the spot.

I'm afraid some of you are missing the point which is has anyone ever seen a referee change a decission because a player as disagreed? I don't think so but referees are human (I know some will disagree) and it is only human nature to react to abuse you say I'm a b@st@rd and I'll be a B@ast@rd and guess who will get the 50/50 descisions?

agree with that bit but it's not the players responsibility it's up to coaches backroom staff and the RFL.

No player will ever change the mind of a ref so to moan at the ref is futile which in turn renders it pointless

That is however a separate issue from whether the referees are doing a good job. I think they are doing their best but they are a long way off what is required. The game is very fast these days and although since the early 90s a lot of work has been done to improve referees' fitness at the end of the day the game is just too quick and there's too much going on for one man to control.

The end result is player frustration but more importantly for a professional sport, frustration for the fans. A number of times recently I've come away from games feeling that the referee had as big an influence in the outcome as the teams. That doesn't mean I think they were cheating, simply that it was refereeing errors that played a big role in who won the game.

What's to be done about this? The answer's obvious, give the touch judges more power and responsibility. Don't hold your breath though, the RFL are not exactly quick at getting to grips with issues like this!
