Unfortunately Wigan players can't win everything and the SL players as a whole decided that Rangi Chase was the stand-out player for this season, end of story.
Wire fans think we should have been Club of the Year, but it was given to the Catalans, who have made tremendous progress this year, and most of us accept that. Get out of the Goldfish bowl and realise that there is more to the game than Wigan.'"
As most have said, I think Sam OR ROBY should have won it above Chase, nothing to do with Wigan. Of course it's voted for by the players, doesn't mean we have to agree with them. I actually think M Monas should have been in the 3 above Chase.

| IMO Tomkins has one nothing since Wembley and even then he didn't play particularly well - in fact, some aspects of his play were starting to really get on my wick. So not surprised in the slightest that he didn't win, especially if it's voted for by the players. More surprised that Roby didn't win but i suppose Chase has carried his team for most of the year...

A forum is all about people voicing/exchanging opinions and as long as theres no personal abuse etc there isnt really a problem is there?. Its like anything some things you will agree with and some you wont. Chase winning was a farce imo but thats just my opinion. That doesnt mean its wrong or right its just what I feel.
The trouble is our goldfish bowl is full of people from other goldfish bowls for some reason even though they hate us

Plenty of these peers who don't respect him still voted for him, though. How does that work?

| i reckon the only reason Rangy (i am english) Case has won is because the voters couldnt decide between Sam and Roby, so they voted for Chase

A pap team that doesnt cheat the cap to survive and held you to a draw at their place ? The Goldthorpe medal winner is now the MOS. Sam is a great player and his time will come so , just for once , show a bit of class and congratulate the winner.
Well done Mr Chase

| Quote: Deano G "Yesterday really was an appalling day in the history of RL, though the incompetence, hypocrisy and Wigan hating of much of the RL world was actually very amusing.
First the story finally breaks that some clubs have been underpaying the revenue, a clear breach of rule A3 and Wigan hating, I suppose at least we can have a laugh at the expense of these total idiots.
Nurse! Nurse!
This man's medication is obviously not strong enough.
He needs a stronger dose in future.
Oh, and while you're at it nurse, he needs more padding on his cell wall, and his straight jacket needs upgrading.
It's sad when they get like this, nurse....very sad.

Of course you have, medals i mean, its funny how it was a big thing (the goldthorpe) when it looked like sam was gonna win it.
Sam will be a world beater of that there is no doubt, but while most realise that they still cant give credit to anyone not wearing red and white, and for that reason , you have my pity.
As for wigan haters, the game isnt big enough for hate so please drop the pretence that your lot are special , A damn good rugby league club , but not the messiahs ffs.
Its a game , Rangi was voted as MOS in that game ........ get over it

| Its an award that never fails to create confusion.
What is always more controversial than who the award actually goes to is the process itself for me.
Are players really the best judge of who has had the most significant impact on the competition? Do the players have time to watch every round of Superleague and analyse opposition players week in week out?
As i understand it players tend to focus on who their opposition is for the next game (some don't even do that!) and many won't even bother to watch highlights from other games played on the same day or weekend.
Im not sure what the solution is to giving the award more credibility but perhaps some kind of recognised points system would be an improvement similar to the AG medal winner.
Well done to Chase, Roby and Tomkins who have all haD sensational seasons for their clubs - im just not convinced that the players are best placed to decide who wins the MOS.
