TBH I'm struggling why some are feeling hard done to with regards the Gleeson situation. The club will have known he would likely sign for someone else pretty soon after and will no doubt have taken that into account in terms of the conditions of his release from the club.

Given the club forked out for him and realised what an important player he was, you can draw your own conclusion why they were still prepared to release him. Given the situation, no club would have paid a transfer fee for him or swapped any decent players we would want.

So we let him go due to a minor disciplinary problem, injuries and so he could take some time away form the game to sort himself out.

So now he's signed for Hull the injuries can't be a problem and he's not taking any time away from the game. So that leaves minor disciplinary" problem as the reason. We may even have paid him compensation.

If so we have paid out to strengthen another team and could not deal with the minor issues he had. Or the press release from the club was another complete waste of time and those were not the reasons at all.

IF we've payed Gleeson to leave the club then it's a seriously massive F up by IL. We've lost a quality player and are massively out pocket saying we payed him off plus spent 100k to bring him here in the first place.

How is that good business by Wigan.

IMO we should have fined him heavily and worked with him and against the scumbag scouse people who created this mess.
