given our notoriously poor starts id go with the same 20-23 players who will be in contention for round one as i will against wire in a few days. no harm in giving them a run out to build up match fitness. understand arguments about injury risk but for me its woth the risk if we win first 3 games rather than lose them. momentum is something we only usually get in last 6 rounds. imagine if we had it in first 6 and onwards...

hello all you Wigan people my lad is making is debut tomoz at 16 years of age. Please get behind the young Wigan team they need all off us. Remember when we where all complaining that the young uns weren,t getting a chance.

There has been a lot of moaning about the Wigan team selection. I have looked on their official site and as far as I can see Leigh have not named their team yet.

We are trying to find enough fit players at present, expect debuts for local lads Hopkins(East) Nicholson and Pownall (Miners).
Should be a great game, with 2 evenly matched sides and your big guns coming on to make a difference.

So now your telling us that Leigh have not yet named a squad, and all we have heard is that Wigan have disrespected the fixture.
Wigans bench is full of 16,17 and 18 year olds all making their first team debut.

Millward doesn't tend to publicise his squads, but it's quite simple really - we only have 24 in the squad (3 definitely out injured) and a handful of kids. Millward will want to put out the strongest side he can, because our season starts next weekend.

I'm a big follower of the academy and reserves at home and sometimes away and had it been a reserve game entrance fee I'd have gone, but for £14.00 it's too expensive in my opinion.

In regards to supporting the young lads and seeing the talent within the club, well I intend to be a regular follower of the reserves and academy all season so I will get to witness and support our young lads.

Like I say, £14.00 for a reserve grade friendly is too expensive but I wish good to the lads either way as I do in any other, normal reserve grade fixture.
