Only it shouldn't have been a penalty for that. Donald had to make that play, irrespective of seconds on the clock or men aorund him. At real-time speed it was a legitimate tackle. That Bentham or the touchie failed to recognise that has been completely smokescreened in this potty debate.

Wearing a fairly large knee brace for an uninjured player this morning......
I am also not buying the inevitable six points stuff. Carmont was caught over a much shorter run earlier in the match, there were serveral Leeds players around, many of whom were more than quick enough to catch Richards or Carmont over the 50-60m or so to the line. I think you are allowing emotion to cloud your judgement a bit if you are really honest. I have watched the pull back this morning on a replay, and it is the sort of incident that happens pretty often throughout the season. Penalty, 10 minutes, end of chat.
I have never seen a red card given for a professional foul in RL, I think you have the wrong sport. Had Monsieur Alibert penalised him (rightly) for the pull back, you would have faced 12 men for a very few seconds from an un-kickable penalty. He (wrongly) penalised Donald instead, so you got a kickable penalty. In neither circumstance would the disciplinary be even considering a ban.
If a player was injured in an attempt to injure another player, I could understand a bit of schadenfreude (not my bag, but I could understand it). Injured in a non-violent offence? I don't see the poetic justice. What's the "natural justice" penalty for being offside? Would a broken finger be sufficient?
I think a few deep, cleansing breaths are needed on this board.
Oh, and Bluey's post-match comments allude to an incident other than the pull back on Carmont, the case for or against which remains very much un-proven.

I agree it maybe shouldnt of been a penalty for that. Sky showing the replay so many times in slow motion definately made it look worse. Crusaders had a penalty given against them for the exact same thing against Hull FC the other week so at least they are being consistent. Really we should of had a penalty on our 30m line where McGuire committed the offence, but instead Donald was judged to make the offence, hence why I'm saying the penalty was in the wrong. But it doesnt matter now anyway, Leeds deserved the win we need to concentrate on Friday.

Correct.
It's also being ignored that Leeds were effectively down to 12 men, sin bin for McGuire or not. His injury meant they were a man down, so the sin bin/send off debate is utterly futile. Only a narcissistic referee would have binned a man on a stretcher with 5 seconds left.
I give you Steve Ganson.

Did anyone grab hold of the ref like one of your players did not so long ago?

No way.
Ut should never have been a bloody penalty in the first place, donald was committed, he dived into the tackle before richards even kicked the ball ffs.....and then the ball went straight into touch.
the penalty SHOULD have been 20 metres further back for the carmont incident.

| Watch the game again...
The ball did not go straight into touch, it bounced then went out. Most of the people are saying that the penalty was harsh as Donald was committed, but if thats the penalty that is given then its taken where the ball landed. They are the rules. Kick was missed anyway, so I dont know what people are still going on about.

Do you Warriors fans now have emotional closure?
Can we all move on with our lives and respective partners?
If so, this is beautiful.

| Simple to clear this all up I agree Donald WAS committed however in the other leeds game Coley was binned for tackling burrows at EXACTLY the moment he kicked the ball.
This shows above all consistency from the Refs imo. Which as we all know is something they've lacked.
And yes I know consistently wrong but at the end of the day we are now even in that respect.

for the sake of 'official-ness' he should have yellow carded him. In theory, what would have happened if Wigan had got downfield to get a 1 pointer, then in extra time McGuire made a miracle recovery and came back on to score the winning try?
of course, he didnt give a penalty for the McGuire incident so its a completely irrelevant point.

Get a grip and take your emotionally retarded judgement out of it. Neither was a red.
Never have I read such unintelligible, one-eyed bile that is demonstrated in this thread coming from a team that has the most penalised player in the League. Sweet Jesus.
