| Quote: WigansForeignLegion "I agree that Fielden does need to do the ol 'yed down n thrutch' but most people who have watched Wigan for some time will tell you that Fielden's at his best when there's a little red mist coming down. I recall a game towards the end of last season when another forward gave him a clout; Fielden's response was to slam everyone in the tackle and smash them in the hit-ups. He was amazing that game.
I don't necessarily agree that Fielden needs to go looking for a scrap but he does need to stand up and be counted when someone offers him out. He either needs to grow a pair or be kicked in what he's got if he's to be effective.'"
Was that against Wire? the game that kick started his good form I think. He was also good against Leeds when he had a run in with Peacock, when he took the next drive and got smashed by 5 Leeds players, didnt take a step back and had that look in his eyes was fantastic. A big factor in our strong finish to the season was Feka's improved fitness and Fielden's regained form IMO. He was extremely unlucky not to get in the England squad too
I was dissapointed when Fielden backed down from Crabtree the other week, if it had been a few months earlier he would of stood up but he didn't Hopefully Ryles gives him a high shot early on so he gets his 'crazy eyes' but Ryles would probably put him on his before he got his crazy eyes

| Quote: post "After Fielden got floored off Mason he should have banjoed Mason and anyone else who wanted to join in and should have made a point of rushing in the big hit Mason and running at him all game and had a scrap with him if he wanted to and to get the same respect and fear off all the other players but no he wimped out.'"
He didn't wimp out. He didn't know where he was and didn't know what he was doing. Nor did he get another chance to in the next GB V Aus game as Mason was suspended!
Quote: post "the Cas game is on and it shows Fielden getting owned off Mitchell Sargeant who is cack, the stats don't show how easily you got tackled do they?'"
Fielden gets owned off everyone. FACT. Your suggestion he should 'thump' Ryan Bailey and then have a scrap with Peacock to get him back to his best is purely ridiculous on the basis that he'll get taken to the cleaners off the both of them.
Quote: post "Its like Chuck Liddell in UFC, once was top drawer and now he is getting pasted off everyone, his fight aganst Shogun Rua is probably his last decent fight and if he doesn't win considerably his career is finished. Its the same with Fielden, he has turned into a pudding and if he played for Saints we would be laughing our heads off, he really needs to pull his finger out because it is embarrassing to watch our 'Number 1 enforcer prop' getting owned by every player in the league.
It would have never happened to Skerrett!'"
He isn't our "Number 1 Enforcer", I think you'll find that title belongs to Feka. Skerret was heads and shoulders above Fielden and took the ball in as hard as he could and tackled as hard as he could. Does it not make sense for Fielden to actually try that?

| This fella is an absolute disgrace. He is stealing a living. If he had anything about him, he'd knock on Lenegan's door, tear his contract up and offer to play for free.
And I'd still leave him on the bench even if he did that.
I watched him against Huddersfield having a bit of argy bargy with Crabtree. He totally cacked out. I don't care if he's eighteen foot tall, if I'm a prop and someone is getting in my face, there's only going to be one outcome. So, then, I'm watching him and for the next TWENTY FIVE minutes, he did not take ONE ball in against Crabtree.
Imagine what Kelvin Skerrett would say to him if he was in the pack with him. He'd be tearing him a new one in the tunnel after games.
He simply hasn't got the fire that he once had and if you've not got that as a prop then you're finished, imo. Loan him out to Leigh.
Absolutely sick of seeing him with his hands on his hips after knocking on. Get rid.

| Fielden ain't been at his best for ages. As far as Wigan goes, is has been the biggest waste of money in RL history.

| Stevo nearly got me there when the close up of Fielden came on and Stevo mentioned the word 'resignation' - unfortunately it was just the resignation of defeat!!

| Feel sorry for him, really do.
But, no one from the opposition is going to feel sorry for him, and as a result, he shouldn't be any where near a rugby league field.

| Very poor as usual from Fielden, he needs dropping for his good and the good of the team. He was our worst player today and on Thursday, and often is.

He was without doubt our worst player on Thursday but he had alot of contenders for that title today.
If O'Carroll was fit he'd deserve to be out in a shot.

Not too sure, there's a difference between a tired player and bad player. Having said that Karl Pryce didn't look too good either, especially knowing Phelps was man of the match on Thursday but got dropped. I was impressed with Coley though, made plenty hard yards tonight and even made a decent break!

For sure. I was fuming when we loaned Mossop out to be honest. I'd have him on the bench, at least for a bit of passion and to drop Stu and show him he's not an automatic pick just because he was good three years ago.
