| Quote: DaveO "Doesn't matter if it was intentional or not. You can't expect to stay on the field when a swinging arm hits the head of a player and knocks him out. Players get sent off for less this was reckless play at the very least and that's a sending off offence.'"
Exactly this in a nutshell.

| Quote: Pemps "Intent is irrelevant. He made contact with the head with a clenched fist resulting in a player being knocked out. Red.'"
Completely agree with that. You can't swing a clenched fist and make contact to the head with the force that Raynor did and stay on the pitch

I'll let you into a little secret, the part about it not being a try was tongue in cheek.

| Original Wire - You want to get off your high horse.
If this had happened to your beloved Briers you would be holding an entirely different opinion. You would be condemning Raynor just like the Wigan fans are.

If you don't bother to go to the game when you live in the locality then you are not really a fan and therefore your views are invalid. It's simple.:icons39ad_files/4821-1859san_c-msnicons.jpg |

| Quote: east hull FC fan "Morleys against the Aussies was a red, this wasn't.
Ganson had to ask where the contact was. Everything like this looks a lot worse in slow motion.
Raynor spent a lot of years at my club and I've met him a few times. Believe me, it would not have been intentional.'"
That proves aboslutely nothing. I could just as easily say I know him too and can easily believe that it was deliberate.
All we've got is the evidence before us. Telepathy by Warrington fans, thickie Yaaarkshire outrage from Bradford fans and name-dropping by guys like you count for squat. What we saw was as close to a full on punch to the jaw as I've seen in modern times. Don't ask me, ask John Kear - who's hardly a Wigan fan. Even he was appalled.
And don't ask naive questions like why would he do this? How about taking out Wigan's most dangerous attacking player? It's not rocket science.

| Raynor's shot on Sam was the best piece of sporting action all weekend, looked even better in slow-mo.

You annoyed people here when you started to compare the Raynor incident with the Mcguire incident last year. It was mentioned here that some Bulls fans had boo'd Tomkins, and you compared the two incidents. They would only habve been comparable if Raynor had badly hurt his wrist if he had been trying to stop the try with "foul play"... Please don't be suprised if we defend our team, if Briers had been sparked, it would probably have been deemed a hanging offence in your eyes.

To be fair to Sam, he took the shot well. He was walking around again soon after, but that doesn't say much for Raynor.
