It doesn't say whether he pleaded guilty to both offences though. They are two separate issues and he could appeal against one of them. He had to plead guilty to the Soliola one, but I've watched the Wilkin one a few times now and still can't make anything out.

Playing the other code in New Zealand mate, I've been close! It's amazing what some people will do to try and get you to release the ball in a maul!

They were two separate incidences but they were both Grade C dangerous tackle offences so they were the same offence, two incidences. If the RFL judged him to be guilty of one they had to find for the other as well because they were the same offence, as per the original charge. He also apparently pleaded guilty, which suggests he knew exactly what he was doing and that it was not legal to do it. Hopefully he will now make sure he doesn't tackle like that again.

Just because they were the the same type of offence doesn't mean they don't treat them separately. He got charged twice because they were two completely unconnected incidents in different halves of the game, was found guilty twice hence why he was given a game ban for each. All we know is he pleaded guilty but we don't know whether to one or both incidents.

In which case there would probably be a thread entitled 'Cheap Shot Wilkin' if he had punched Lima in the tackle.

I would have thought the best thing he could do is not let his team down by getting banned for two counts of sh*thouse tactics in one game, with a WCC coming up and another front line prop injured.
Funny how all the fault here rests with Wilkin, rather than the player who pleaded guilty to the sort of deliberate tackle that can (and has on several occasions) cause serious injury.

No arguments with this really. Bit of an overeaction really from us. Maybe the Wilkin one is a bit harsh.

It's a bad state of affairs when the players who get penalised for an offence don't even get brought before the BEAK and a player who doesn't gets 2 x games for a similar offence?'"
I agree. The fact they got penalised during the game should be no mitigation. In fact if a chicken wing tackle is worth a one or two match ban I'd go further and ask why weren't all the players penalised for it not sent off?

Well if you want RL players behaving like soccer players I am sure you won't be complaining as they all start citing each other to the ref throughout the game.

I know, I know. It's Wilkin's fault for having arms that can be chicken winged.
Are you SERIOUSLY suggesting that no Wigan players have ever appealed for a high tackle on a fellow player? Or an offside at the PTB? Or a strip in the tackle? Or any other discretion?
Everyone is making out that this is some sort of precedent - players appeal for foul play (be it biting, gouging, high tackles, chicken wings) and general penalties (be they strips, offsides, knock-ons, back-to-one) ALL THE TIME. If you have never seen it happen before and that it is only the realm of footballers, I can only assume you only started watching last weekend.

I think it's safe to assume that it was to both because he was charged with both and he has pleaded guilty.

Why don't you just face the fact that Lima played dirty, got caught and he and the team are now taking the consequences for his actions? After all, Lima himself has done so. Man up for heaven's sake. Stop being such a pussy.
