He should be selected at 7 for the mid season French test imo.'"
Agree, I'm surprised he's not been snapped up by Warrington with their seemingly endless funds.

The term "world class" is banded about way too liberally IMO, we have some very good players at the moment, some of them are the best in their country in their position, but none of them would get in a world 17.'"
Agree completely.
Going by that only Burgess and Graham deserve consideration amongst British players IMO.

Both on and off the field.
Firstly the business is improving as well as the clubs reputation which was in tatters under Maurice Lindsey.
We have seen big improvements in the marketing of the club and have finally got a club shop that is not an embarassment to the club - Warriors World really did reflect the state of the club prior to Ian Lennagans involvement - dated and unable to deliver what the supporters expect.
Now with a coach appointed by Ian Lennagan we are seeing results on the pitch and we are creating a winning culture, something which takes time.

Maybe a back up halfback, someone with a bit of experience on a short term deal.
Big tall strong running second rower, like a McMeekin or Sironen type back rower.:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_20333.gif |

| I am confident we will beat Bradford.
I'm sure the players are but just because a team is confident they will beat another team doesn't mean they will get complacent, SW and MM won't let that happen.
On another note - Langley, Scruton world class? Please! Average superleague players. Langley should play prop IMO might be a decent prop if he did.

I am pretty confident that he is talking about the behind the scene managment and administration as opposed to idiots knocking lumps out of people, so perhaps you should apologize for jumping to that conclusion?

That was one idiot. For Scruton to get in a Rhinos gf winning side and be offered another contract by them shows he is above average, Look at Langley's stats and it shows he is among the best. Not World Class i'll admit but neither are any players at Wigan.

Ricky Bibey won 2 challenge cup winners medals too blah blah blah
Ryan Bailey was in that team also and he is average, to dress Nick Scruton up as above average is laughable, he is an average player who tries to big hit young players.
In all the games I have seen Jamie Langley play he has never once passed the ball or won M.O.M.
Never be a loose forward as long as he has a hole in his harris, but, if he moved to prop I believe he would make a half decent prop if he ran it in a little harder.

However, a number of electrons were mildly inconvenienced.

| Quote: MattyB "If anyone is experienced coaching an unbeaten team then Shaun Wane is.
Last season his reserves lost one league match all season, an improvement of the season before (4 losses one draw). He knows damn well how to prepare a team ready for the next game despite the massive pressure of being unbeaten. In addition, a lot of the younger players who have come through are also used to playing winning rugby week in week out. I'm not saying we will go close to being unbeaten this season, but the way the team is playing I can't see us losing more than 6 matches - which could see us well inside the top 3 or even two.'"
There's something else driving this team, which I think is overlooked by a lot of people.....
We have 5 "club captains".
Let me explain:
Who (like me) thinks that there is MASSIVE rivalry between the 5 lads who share the arm-band?
None of them will want to be the first losing captain of the new-look Wigan team.
It also wouldn't surprise at all if there is some rather hefty forfeit payable for the team captain that's first to lose.
Whether that's financial or something altogether more embarassing, I don't know.
What I am absolutely positive of is that every one of those 5 players will be driving the rest of the team even harder with each passing match, to ensure that complacency is the very last thing on their minds.
Back to this particular match - I honestly can't see anything other than us steam-rollering them into submission and running out clear winners by 12-20 points

You obviously haven't watched Scrutes play too much then. that's really not his style.
You also can't have watched too many SKY games over the past 3 years as Langley has picked up the MoM award about 4 or 5 times.
Watch Scruton on Friday night, I have no problems if it's your opinion that he's not a good player, but he doesn't go for the big-hits on young kids, he relishes trying to get them in on the biggest players on the field.
Also, I don't think there's any possible way Langers could run the ball in harder than he has been doing so far this season.

i was chating to langley after the play off game at widnes afew seasons ago.the first thing that stood out was how big he his! i actually rate him as a player, but the impression i get from seeing him play was that he's never actually reached his potential, and imo you could get abit more from him than he sometimes gives.
