Don't you struggle. Don't you fight. Don't you worry, cause it's your turn tonight!

I think the club will apply for special dispensation ie John Dixon.'"
What do you mean when you say special dispensation?

Not sure what Celtic's reasoning was, but it worked.

No he would not get moaned at. He would be seen to be in control of the situation rather than it looking like it does now-a b@lls up. I suspect the truth behind it all is that he failed to get his number 1 choice (Kearney) so has been scratching around for a replacement ever since.Hes played Noble at a game all along hoping that in the worst case scenario in that he cannot get a new coach he can just try to talk him into a one year deal and the game would start all over again next year.
There is absolutely no reason why IL could not commit to a yes or no answer weeks ago when asked if Noble would or wouldnt be here next year. If you can give me a reason why that should be kept a secret then please feel free to do so.

So if Noble is off and IL tells us this week, do you not think this will be counter productive to the team for the run in to the finals?
If Noble is not staying the sensible thing to do is keep quiet until the Wigan season runs it's course.
Even if he does tell us (and i hope he doesn't) people will then say 'well now tell me who is replacing him' and chances are that person coming in is under contract. Therefore we will destabilise the team and peope like you will still not be happy because you don't know the replacement.
To sum it all up, surely if he could tell us he would!!!

Disagree completely, announcing anything regarding the coaching position within the last 8 weeks would have been detrimental to the team, UNLESS he was staying, in which case it would have been announced ages ago.
I think that everyone who needs to know will already know, and thats the way it should be. Fairly enough as fans we want to know whats going on, but thats not how clubs are run in reality.
Its different from what St Helens did with Anderson last year, he was a massively successful coach who announced that he was going back to Aus, in which case it would only have been beneficial to the team and club and fans to give him a big send off. With Noble though, a lot of fans would be happy to already see him gone, changing the situation completely.
As long as something re: coach and signings is announced as soon as we are knocked out of the playoffs, absolutely fine by me.

Nothing but negative supposition, again.
I repeat - you don't know what's happening, so you're making up a worst case scenario because you're peeved at being kept in the dark.

As said above, there is every reason why IL would not tell us that we have no coach the week before the finals.
As has also been said before, why does he have to tells us now, when the alternative is tell us when the finals are over.
The only game he's played Noble at is win a new contract, I'm not sure what you would like him to do. He has made no comment on Noble other than he likes the guy, and a contract will be offered or not offered based on results. Where is the game in that?
Of course he would get moaned at, have you been to wigan? Nobody loves anything more than a good moan, and infact everyone is moaning right now becuase IL hasn't told us something we don't need to know yet.
What if he is currently talking to three coaches/clubs, if he tells us this he risks upsetting 4 clubs, including our own, so close to the play-offs. If he is in contract negotiations with Noble, IL has no reason to tell us this and potentially put people off the games (if you believe some of the threats on here.) If IL has nobody lined up, and is still considering his options, then agian, I wouldn't be telling people that if I was him because I would have nothing positive to announce.

| Be in no doubt, IL will be looking to confirm a coach for next year, whether that's BN or AN Other. He could and should be looking at as many candidates as he can, to make sure whoever does the job for us next year is the best man for the job. If he hasn't found anyone by now, and if BN walks away, I fear we could be left with a less than satisfactory position where we use a caretaker coach or get the wrong man. If a better alternative isn't available, get BN signed up asap.

That is a good point. The club will be looking for sponsors but can't say who is the coach for 2010. Now I am sure someone will come back and say, "maybe they do know and will be telling the sponsors" but that is too far fetched. It would leak out and that is virtually guaranteed.
Quote: Red Hot Jalapeno "If your scenario is true then all he needed to do is come out and say 'Brian Noble will be leaving at the end of the season and we are in negotiations with candidates for the head coach position, an announcement will be made as soon as possible'. '"
It really is that simple. All this he will look daft if he can't announce who the new coach is just silly. It would have been perfectly reasonable to make such a statement.

| In the past couple of years both Leeds and Stains have announced towards the end of the season that their coach was leaving. Both won a trophy shortly after releasing the news.
