Many games are decided by technical calls by the ref at scrums and the breakdown. Even the commentators often don't know why a decision has gone a particular way. And some of the rules seem perverse. Yellow cards for 'deliberate knock-ons' is a particular pet hate of mine.'"
I don’t mind the yellow for a deliberate knock on it’s similar to a RL yellow for the professional fouls like holding too long in the tackle. I don’t like the RU reds for a clash of heads

| Just watched Wales v Tonga. Fantastic game. Wish more RL games on Thursdays & Fridays were as entertaining as that, tonight.
Granted, that England game last night was dismal.

| I thought ITV would struggle to find worse things than Emmerdale, Coronation Street, Love Island, Only Way is Essex etc to put on but here we are.
I've not seen a single second of it yet and plan on it staying that way if at all possible.

| Ay, more mandems have watched the first round of games than watched the entire rugby league World Cup.

Not sure why the PC jibe was necessary.

| I must admit, I did just watch, and did enjoy, watching Wales pulverise the Aussies! Seemed to me Wales completely bossed the game in every department. Also gave me a chance to pop into the Aussie forum I post on to join in the fun! Comment from one Aussie fan was, "should have a 'Benny Hill' soundtrack".

Should see the end of Eddie Jones, he was openly stating that there were NRL stars that should be signed for RU.

| Even that doesn't always work. I don't think RTS pulled up any trees in RU, and he's back at the NZ Warriors next season.

Yeah, the guy is a bit of a prick but he’s a winner (has been anyway) and he speaks very highly of Rugby League and the NRL. They’ve signed Suaalii from the Roosters to a big money deal but there is talk he might pull out because of the state of Ozzie Rugby Union. Surprised they can get talent from the NRL, the NRL is paying big money now and seems much more popular in Australia than Union, the NZ lads will always have the draw of the All Blacks and our lads will always have the draw of the money playing Union for England.
