| I have to say you have done remarkably well to be within 4 points of a top 4 place.
Either it`s because the standard all round is poor or you have some very good youngsters coming through.
When we (Leeds) had that many injuries we just about scraped out of the wooden spoon award saved only be one class signing that kept us up.
I really do think that once you get somewhere near to a ful lteam you will take some stopping.
The danger is you leave it too late.
But don`t worry we will give you all the help we can by losing to teams like Widnes, Huddersfield and Warrington along the way.

| you know, i can almost relate to the OP if i'm honest...
yes its a tad overreacting considering the circumstances, however no team should lose after attaining a 20 nil lead and to be fair Wane said this himself post-match. this mainly highlights how massive lockers is to us and why Wane wants him to carry on next year - Wane knows we have no one anywhere near ready to take his place in terms of leading by example and simply being a prescence on the pitch. Bateman is being touted as that man but again he is not near the finished article or ready for that burden yet.
it is worrying, and more importantly very upsetting after yesterdays' horrid loss BUT we do have bods back soon. the likes of Cas, Salford and Leeds haven't really had their bad patches yet and they WILL come. Hull are in theirs now, as are Catalans and Wire don't seem to be improving much. i can't see Saints playing any better than they did against us last week either.
Cas have very limited "class" cover and the benefit to other teams is that they have had so much consistency so far this season that they have rarely needed to bring other players in, so perhaps if and when that does happen (not that i am willing injury on anyone) the players coming in have big shoes to step into and it only takes one crack...
Our kids are already bloodied and doing well considering. if anything, a topsy turvy season such as it is for us at present will benefit our kids more IMO.
one gripe i do still have is that Wigan seem to think we are still good enough to go in for the kill instead of taking penalty points on offer; i can think of two games this year alone where we could have won games and we may now have been in a very different position. that needs sorting out - every minute matters!
still, onwards and upwards.

Yet no acknowledgement of the quality of the team that beat you - no surprise I suppose, apparently Trinity have never had a team that wins on merit and ability not in the whole of our 18 seasons in SL, always some excuse as to why we won blah blah blah

| Quote Edinburgh Warrior="Edinburgh Warrior"Normally it's people getting up every five minutes for a pint or a pee that drives me bonkers when i cant see the match properly . Yesterday it was people heading home just after half time . Bonkers.
2 busses , 2 trains and 2 flights to get there and back yesterday , not the best result but Hey Ho that's Rugby League and the roller-coaster that is Wigan Warriors

That's support right there.
We'll be fine and if we're lucky enough to win anything else this year I always think of the dedication of supporters like yourself and how deserving of success that suppprt is.
My best mate used to live in London yet went home and away every single week. He sacrificed all sorts and it cost him a fortune. It was round the time we were awful as well in the mid 2000's and onwards.

| You think you've got problems? You lot have a U19's and reserve team out near enough every week and still compete in games.
Swap you Tony for Shaun Wane any day of the week.

| I was Mr Knee jerk reaction last season. This year is more of the same, except we are playing better rugby, even if the results aren't going our way. We had entire back line out, from 1-5, two first choice props missing, and the a full second row in Bateman and Tomkins. If you put any other team in the league in the same position with the injuries going on for so long and they are in relegation trouble, not 4 points off the top 4.
Do you think Saints beat us with their entire back line, start props and second rowers missing? Do you think Wakefield beat us with the same missing? And Wigan at near full strength? I don't.

| We should have a much stronger idea of whether we will make the play offs after the next round of fixtures. We play Hull FC and Wakefield play Salford. If ourselves and Salford win then the league would read:
4. Wakefield 20
5. Hull FC 19
6. Wigan 18
Which looks fairly manageable to me given that we play them each again in the Super 8s. However, if Wakefield and Hull FC win then I really couldn't see us pulling it back:
4. Wakefield 22
5. Hull FC 21
6. Wigan 16

| Quote Rogues Gallery="Rogues Gallery"Agree,
I was talking to a couple of Saints supporting friends and said much the same. Go back to around 2003 - 2004 when we had Brown, Robinson, Aspinwall, O'Loughlin, Tickle etc etc and a similar thing happened. They coped well for a while but eventually fatigue, inexperience etc took over. It's a struggle, but providing we can get some bodies back in the next month or so we'll be o.k. It's going to be difficult to make the top four before the split though, so the Challenge Cup maybe the better chance this season.'"
Think the Challenge Cup has always been the main aim this season and Waney will have one eye on the next round when deciding who plays and when.
Having said that, think it's too early to give up on the play offs just yet and with a bit of luck on the injury front, we'll be in the mix so to speak.
