| I'm in Cornwall on holiday and my reception wasn't great. Sky go went off on my phone just before the sending off so I didn't see it. Was it a bad one? I know we're bound to have all these trolls from other clubs on here so I'll take their comments with a pinch of salt.
Is he looking at a decent ban?

A couple of games, it was clumsy rather than malicious.

| Was late and high, and to be honest, probably one of the few calls Mr Hicks got right all night. Sam Tomkins reaction deserved 10 mins but he bottled it. The string of penalties against Wigan was farcical and the binning of Ratchford a joke.
That said, still great to see the wire fans evaporate as Gelling scored!!!

Deserves a ban but he didn't decapitate him, stupid, clumsy and unnecessary would be my verdict.

It doesn't make any of it right but at least there could be some consistency from the refs. If I remember, Hohaia got a 1 match ban and no red card.'"
I think Hohaia got 3 matches reduced to 2 with EGP, served them both in pre season.
I was expecting some large over reactions to this one. I've no problem with the red as there was direct contact to the head, he wasn't looking at him and had turned his back, I think it will be classed as careless rather than malicious and expect 2 - 3 games.

It was a bad one. Tried to go in late on the young lad Patton because we were losing to try and shake him up a bit but for whatever goes through his head, decides to deliberately raise his elbow into the lad's throat. I was shouting for us to get rid after the Grand Final (provoked or not) and the team proved tonight that even with a man down without him there we don't need him. Just another hanger on like Sarginson, Crosby and Teatowel
Edit :- also, it was about 2-3 seconds late, so pre-meditated in my book. Don't want players like that at my club. Put yourselves in other situations, say for instance, if you jumped into a pool and somebody was underneath you, you would try and alter your body position in an instant so you didn't hurt them. If you saw a brick being thrown at somebody you would reach out in an instant to prevent it from hitting them, If you saw a child in the road and a car skidding towards them you would dive for them in an instant. Do you understand what i am saying? Ben Flower has had 2 episodes now where he has had plenty of time (even in a few seconds) to correct his actions but he is obviously just a thug.

If you don't bother to go to the game when you live in the locality then you are not really a fan and therefore your views are invalid. It's simple.:icons39ad_files/4821-1859san_c-msnicons.jpg |

Expect a ban... Although you could claim "Clumsy", he had launched himself and forearm connected with head.

There is no excuse for leading with the elbow. Putting you arm in this position when attacking an opposition player with or without the ball is unacceptable and clearly dangerous.
It's not poor technique. A charge down is characterised by straight arms stretching upwards, not completely bent arms leading with the point of the elbow.
Given his record of attacking the head of players without the ball, I'd expect 4-5 games.

Didn't Rangi receive only a 3 match ban for not only leading with an elbow but breaking an opposition players jaw?
Didn't Brough receive only a 2 (3?) match ban for quite deliberately elbowing a Salford player a few weeks ago?

I thought Brough's ban was far too short, the panel somehow accepted he made contact whilst simply trying to regain his feet.
I also thought Rangi got off lightly (although at least the opposition player had the ball). At the time, he also had no previous suspension.
Flower has led with the elbow into the face of a player without the ball who was in a vulnerable position. His previous record includes the longest suspension in SL history and he has been found guilty of could play already this season.
