Full marks to the club with this news. IMO we couldn't have got a better replacement for Charnley. A 21 year old international who knows our setup inside out, it doesn't get better than that. Looks like I'm going to have to look really hard for something to moan about if this continues!

Disappointed for the lad that he didnt manage to crack the first team, hope it wont be too much of a dent to his confidence. Over the moon to have him back though

I think he saw the bright lights of the NRL and got star struck and jumped too soon. He had hardly served his apprenticeship in SL before he was off. Not a criticism I applaud his confidence but a huge ask for him to make a go of it at the Roosters when you consider who was in front of him.

I think he was maybe poorly advised.

He has packed on some size over there whilst maintaining his pace. I think he will probably do 5 years back here before having another crack at the NRL, and I'm sure given that time he will make a real go of it then. In the mean time we get to watch him and benefit from him. Great news.

Replacing Charnley with a younger, faster winger is a cracking bit of business.

Pity we couldn't keep hold of him in the first place.
It's the state of the league and RL in general, but it's a pity the likes of Joe, Sam, Joel and anyone who's come through our system should be with us from the start not wanting to look elsewhere. Then the signings we bring in are additional to our own development.

Very surprised he is coming back so soon. I know he has been playing reserve grade mostly but I thought he would have stayed for least another year.

But it shows that going to the NRL when you are young is not a bad thing as you can always come back.

I never understand people saying this? If he did fail in the NRL, so what, he will come back to Super League where he is undoubtedly one of the best wingers in the competition. Him not setting the NRL on fire has zero bearing on his ability to come back and tear it up in Super League next year. Does anyone now call Sandow an NRL failure, because for the last 3 years or so thats what he's been, an absolute NRL failure, but he is fantastic in Super League. Fantastic signing by the club and I'm glad we didn't sign Carney now as I'd much rather have Burgess back on the wing.
