Stats say it should happen or should have happened by now. The two sides that have finished one and two on the league ladder now for the past three years. One of the two have also been involved in every final in the last three seasons apart from the GF of 2011 when it was yourselves and Saints.

Perhaps the reason that we 'only' had to get past London in the '99 Final, was that we had knocked out all the leading contenders on the way??

...Wigan, St Helens and Bradford (plus Widnes) were all knocked out by that Leeds side on the way to Wembley. Probably one of the toughest routes to winning the Cup in the modern era.

Then I must also pull you up on that assertion too. Our win in 2011 came at the expense of Bradford, Warrington, St Helens and of course yourselves in the final. A similarly, if not tougher run than you had in 1999.

Personally I consider Leeds to be our biggest rivals and look forward to games against them more than Derbys (the sheer amount of them has ruined the occasion imo), however we have beaten them in a big final already and it would be nice to get the 1980 monkey off our backs.
