| While the above complaints are valid, I don't recall the same complaints about the '92 semi-finals against Bradford in the CC and Leeds in the Premiership...

| I enjoyed it. It's been a very patchy six weeks and we now need to go into the final in great form (still think we can grab top-spot back)!
Hopefully injuries will be kind to us from now on!

| I enjoyed getting to Wembley - and knowing we were there by half-time was more enjoyable than sweating it out until the very last minute.
But some of the other points are valid. It undoubtedly made for a poor spectacle. However, I think this sort of thread should be posted on the London board rather than the Wigan board.
I'm not sure what some neutrals expect - that Wigan should go easy on their opponents in order to entertain the fair-weather masses? Wigan have been out-of-sorts for several weeks now, and a game like that could have been just what they needed for everything to click back into place, and for the recuperating injuries to get some game-time under their belts in an important match. So there were definite upsides to it for us.
If that viewpoint cuts no ice, then the next place you need to go is the RFL to question the validity of the Challenge Cup, which of course many people now do - because only in the Challenge Cup can the luck of the draw enable absolute losers to reach the semi-finals. At one time that used to be called 'the Magic of the Cup', but we seem to be a more cynical breed these days, who aren't interested in fairy stories.

| I don't think anyone is criticising Wigan, they drew London and played their game, it really should have been more than 70 because Wigan couldn't put it together at the start of the game.
I'll be honest i think this is one of the very few times i've actually wanted Wigan to win <shakes violently, runs bath> because i want to see a Wigan/Wire final, now just hope we can get there and really show the neutrals what an actual great game of rugby can look like

| another reason why London should lose their Superleague status.
Fan base is awful, teams awful, and it seems the managements awful.

| It was grim for the neutral, really grim.
But ultimatly it was the result we all wanted, a wigan warrington final will be awesome. Just the manner of the game was shocking.

| Interesting points throughout this thread and I'm glad I'm not the only one with those views. It isn't Wigan's fault they stuck that many points on London, but it definitely highlights major flaws within our domestic game.
For the casuals who only see it on the BBC, it must have been a bit of a confusing mess. Two 'top tier' sides in the Leagues premier stage of a season long knock out comp..
It sounds good on paper if you're unfamiliar with the game.
The final will be something special, but will the TV audience be reminded of how it happened?

| Happy we got to Wembley, no injuries, easy game. Easy games are welcome at this point imo. Wasn't a very good spectacle, but that's not our fault

There weren't many rugby league fans complaining about the '05 quarter final against Saints either.
