But Wigan fans haven't been crowing about how amazing our team is, have we? In fact many Wigan fans have been writing off our own team in recent weeks. The average Wolfs fan seem to think they could beat Australia by at least 30 points, so I'm more than happy laughing at them after yesterday's humiliation at the hands of the scousers. If Wire go on to win the GF then they'll have the last laugh but they were hammered at home by Saints after bigging themselves up all season and I think we are allowed to have a chortle at the expense of the Wolfs.

You seem to forget that 30 odd people on an internet forum do not represent the 'average wolfs fan'. I just go to the games and enjoy rugby. If we win we win. If we loose we loose, simple as. obviously I want to win but we cant have everything can we?
I'm also just enjoying the fact that wire now have a team that can actually compete in big games. I's been a long time coming.

Totally agree MO i don't recall myself crowing or bigging our team up,we were poor last night saints were good The injuries we substained in the game were certainly a factor but we'll dust ourselves down and have another crack next week as another poster wrote you did it the same way two years ago and still went on to win just hope next weeks performance is 100% better and we get the wire/wigan final that we all want

He's the exception that proves the rule - he sounds like a proper rugby league fan who has perspective and knows about the history of his club. If only there were more Wire fans like him on these boards.

If they do I think we will all admit it was a massive achievement. They are going to have to go to Trailer Park and win. Their record in recent years at Saints is not good. Saints are on a roll now and will take some stopping at TP. Wire will be playing a side that will be desperate to win and get the chance to put an end to the humiliating GF losing streak. Beating a fired up Saints at TP will take a big step up in form for Wire. Wire are capable of beating Saints at TP but their chances can be no better than 50:50 (perhaps I'm being unfair to Saints, I expect the bookies will have them as slight favourites) and any injuries or suspensions picked up in the extra game could be disastrous for them.

Agreed, don't read too much into last night, a few twists and turns ahead I think.

I certainly wouldnt be writing off Warrington yet. Wigan played good on Friday, the best for several weeks in fact, but havent really been firing for the last couple of months. Warrington have played well in the same period and Saturdays game doesnt make them a poor team.

If that’s the case for all similar threads on other sites there must be an awful lot of plasters on wiry ar*es now!
