Possibly it is bad management, but I suspect it's not so much a case of McDermot overusing his skipper as it is McDermot and his skipper not even being on the same page.

My personal view is that Leeds are an ageing team and an overrated team (take a bow, Eddie and Stevo), but I also think they are a lot better than we saw tonight. Something is definitely rotten in the state of Headingley.

This gives McNamara food for thought, if he is capable of thought. Last season he completely over-reacted on the basis of Leeds' late run and picked every available Leeds player in his tri-nations squad - Hall, McGuire, Ablett, BJB, Peacock, Sinfield, JJB, Bailey, presumably Burrow and Watkins would have been in if not injured. Dropping them all would surely see his selection policy discredited but he seems to be totally fire proof.

Sinfield is a good kicker and a good thinker that's all. He was given far too much space by Wigan on the 5th tackle and must of thought he was at a training session at times. It should of been part of wigans tactics to ensure he did not get any time on the ball to get a decent kick in once it was known mcguire wasnt playing but instead we stood back and gave him all the time in the world.
