the younger new generation are liscenced and been on courses, (paid for by themselves) to earn a badge.
in my experience they only treat scum like scum........not a very nice job keeping the majority of revellers safe from the few drunken crackpots

The bouncers in question were all young themselves, 23, 24 and 32.

Perhaps there should be some kind of screening in place (if there isn't already) to ensure it's just people like your son and not the lunatics that get on the doors.

how do you know it was 3 bouncers? and how do you know they are guilty?

Won't get into details due to the whole libelous comments situation but I'd be surprised if they didn't get sent down. Very very disturbing what occurred.

without wanting to derail the thread.........most places are run by reputable firms, but there are still the odd rogue forms who dont care who they employ as long as theres bodies on the job

there are screening processes in place, a CRB check and numerous courses (NVQ LEVEL 1&2 ) HAVE TO BE UNDERTAKEN, along with a hefty registration fee to work on the doors, i worked the doors for over 20 years, retired now, too old, too fat, too knackered!
i do take offence with all the sweeping generalistions that are thrown in the direction of doormen, the majority are just working to subsidise their weekly income. i started working as a doorman to help me get through my nurse training!
to call them all scum or worse is out of order! there are good and bad in all works of life!
if the door staff in question did commit the offences alledged they will face the wrath of the law and probably go to prison.

put that on one side, just imagine some peoples behaviour in pubs and clubs on king street for example without door staff?

i've worked wigan, leigh,warrington,st helens,widnes & a few other places over the years and have seen some shocking behaviour by both punters and door staff. my blood boils however when people stand in judgement of a job they've probably never done or have the bottle to do! in all probability have a negative view of door staff because they've been pulled up for behaving like a tit in public themselves and therefore think they're an expert on the subject!


people who slag door staff soon change their mind when they are having their faces smashed in by some drunk, they're usually the ones who run and hide behind them for protection....
