Not sure what benefit it will have by spitting your dummy out and jot attending England games will have. It'll only make things worse.'"
Impossible nonsense. Why would the game's finances magically grow without stars playing the game? More mascots?
Either League gets real or it dies. A slow, slow death, but eventually death (as a professional sport).

i imagine the amount of money that they will be paid will have significantly more of an impact that some other fans booing him. think logically

Whilst I agree that boycotting England isn't right, the OP is expressing the frustration that many people have. I don't know if its a majority (on these boards it looks about 50/50), but a lot of us think the RFL are very bad for the sport. There's apparently no way to express that, and no recogntition from the RFL that things could be done better.
That's why people are forced to make almost unthinkable suggestions.

I can understand the frustration and as easy as it is to say the rfl need to do something and are ruining the game I think they are in a harder predicament than people give them credit for. What exactly can they do to stop this happening? For me raising the salary cap would do more harm than good. And I cant see them doing some sort of deal like they did with Rads and Cunningham in years gone by.

What, you mean this lot don't look like an inspiring leadership team bound to take the game from strength to strength? ( half the posters on here think they're doing a great job! ) www.therfl.co.uk/about_the_rfl/t ... _directors

If there are problems with the way the RFL are running the game, its members (the clubs) would vote for change. As no club has put forward a proposal to increase the salary cap (as far as I know), and it hasnt been voted on by its members then clearly the clubs dont think there needs to be changes made to the salary cap.
I am not saying that the RFL is a perfect organisation, and that nothing can improve - but we have to be realistic. RL in England is a regional sport, and the bigger boys are going to steal our toys when they can....its a fact of life. RL took the best players from RU for 100 years - we cant complain when it happens now, and we dont like it. We have to suck it up, and try to make things better.

So you'd rather bankrupt the game just to retain elite players? The demise of orrell suggests you're wrong.
Fact is most clubs can't spend the cap.

That's the truth and it's nothing but the truth.
However, it's not the whole truth.

I agree. We're not going to stop Tomkins or others in the near term. But go look at Nigel Wood's statement on the RFL site. He closes by re-emphasizing his 'vision' to have the RFL recognized throughout the world as a leading governing body. Can we not have a vision for the *sport*, rather than vision for how much back-slapping he wants for himself? What does 'leading' mean? Anything he wants. He can say they always make a profit, or they've got the best equal-opportunities policy, anything. Who decides whether they've acheived their vision? They find someone to say.."oh yes, that RFL, leading body that is" and then they can turn round to us all and claim they did a good job. It's all horsesh*t.
All we get is "to create the best...." with no defintion of what that means and therefore nothing that's specific or actionable. Lazy, pathetic stuff. Our game deserves better.
Lots of people come on here saying..." well we'll never compete with Union.." as if that statement, true or false, means we should just settle for mediocrity. Regardless of who or what we have a chance of competing with, we should always be driving the game forward as strongly as possible, and these guys are not up to that job.

Oh yeh that'll work, let have nobody in the stadiums to show our sport up as a real laughing stock.
This is a time when fans of ALL RL clubs need to stick together and what better chance than packing the stadiums out for the internationals. Ill be there and so will any self respecting RL fan that can afford to go.
TBH I was gutted to see Chev Walker, Eastmond, Smith etc go and ill be even more so IF Joel/Sam do leave. Its now upto the clubs that are seeing talent pinched by RU to approach the RL and get something sorted. I include the like of Castleford aswell as they have a good few kids coming through the ranks. The old loyalty payments/RLHQ funded worked in the past.
