It's always a risk putting a assistant coach in as first team coach but the Wigan club know if wane is up to it and obviously they think he is. |

A lot of fans mock the " hub cap" as a nothing cup but IMO it shows you've been the best most consistent side over the course of the season. |

Saints have avoided giving Purtill the head coaching position for a long time now. So Saints clearly feel it's a risk. |

It's the same thing, if we finish top at the end of the regular season then we have won the league. The regular season is a league format meaning if we were to win it, we would be league winners again.

I don't think saints feel purtill is ready yet. He's still young and still has a lot to learn.
I think to many British coaches don't learn their trade long enough asca assistant and jump in the deep end to early. |

To be honest, it don't clear it up as I've never heard it as winning the league since the play off concept was introduced.
IMO wigan are deserving winners of the league leaders shield as they have been the best team in my eyes but the play offs is a new compition and it all starts again. |
