Cant say we've missed him this season, Mossop and Lima have done an excellent job in his absence! O'Carroll is due a game at some point and we also have Cross raring to go for cover. No dramas.

all the 80 minute stints he did at Bradford have caught up on him....i wouldnt be surprised if he announced his retirement.

So long as it's after the season's over. At the risk of sounding heartless, don't want anything detracting from the focus of what's happening on the pitch for the next couple of months.

That would leave us losing Cross, Coley and Fielden and Davies all in one season. Would be hard to rebuild from.

Last year he was our best forward and forced his way back into the England side. The bloke is anything but finished.

He aint a spring chicken but he is hardly an old man either. He has always been a consummate pro and looks after himself.

We will see him again next year. It might not be at Wigan, but he will play again.

Finished? That's premature. This is a blokes career we're talking about and he ain't going to give that up easilly. For a player to take early retirement takes a pretty monumental injury with no real sign of a full recovery, then they can claim on insurance. Fielden was nearing fitness from the knee injury that has kept him out this season, if it's a torn pectoral muscle well then it's adifferent injury which is by no means a career ender. 12 weeks out, which ends his season. He'll be back next season. Good luck.
