| Thought Sam played very well tonight and led the team through some tough periods.
I actually thought he was a contendor for MOTM.

| I must watch a different game to most. Thought he played well and along with Charnley was one of the few offering any threat in attack.

| Made a couple of uncharacteristic errors with ball in hand and he still keeps the ball too often when he should pass but he's still the best kick returner in SL and give him an inch of space and he's devastating

| Does he need his own ball or what, holds on for far too long and because of it is far too predictable.

| Finchy on the other hand was world class. His commitment is beyond reproach.
Agreed, he is really starting to fit in at Wigan, hope he stays a few more seasons

Finch and Hoffmans link up is awesome, the pass for hoffmans try - just wow!!! Wish more of our second rowers could link up with him like that, maybe in time.

That was an outstanding bit of RL. Worth the money on its own.
As to Sam if he wants to be a full back he needs keep hold of balls like the one that cost the try. It's what full backs do. Does anyone think Radlinski would have coughed it up? I don't. He made about three other bad handling errors as well but the conditions were rubbish, he can't be perfect every game and he wasn't the only Wigan player dropping it so it's not fair to have a go over those. His runs and breaks were very good and he caused them a lot of problems but isn't it getting a bit predictable?

| Uncharactoistic handling errors apart I'm not sure how it can be described as 'a bad game'??? He was very threatening with ball in hand, made some good broken field plays and caused the opposition all sorts of trouble. Not his best game, by any means, but that just goes to show his quality! If that's a 'bad game' (and given the conditions) I'll take that.

I think that's a bit unfair, it was kicked out of his hands by Widders.

Maybe a bit harsh but I don't think Radders would have lost the ball and fair or not, to be Wigan f/b you have got to match him and Hampson in my eyes. Very high standards of defence from the pair of them which I don't think Sam reaches.

Overall, I agree, but OTOH Sam is more dangerous in attack than either of them were, and the modern game seems to lean more to attacking fullbacks than was the case back then.
