Very true, but I was surprised with Finch getting it...any half back would have prospered with such dominance up front. Just look how invisible Roby & Lomax were, virtually all game.

The halfbacks or outside backs usually get the awards though because they stand out more. With our props being spelled I think it was easier to give it to a player who had an impact all the way through the game. Lima, Hansen and Coley (who looked like he had been caged for a fortnight whilst having Saints-meat dangled in front of his face - he really got stuck in) would all have been worthy winners. In fact any of the forwards probably could have got it, but Finch deserves it and hopefully he might get a bit less stick now.

This shouldn't turn into a 'I told you so' contest but Hansen was outstanding tonight and was at Castleford last week. He works overtime in defence but thats something he's always done. It's his attack thats really improved these past 2 years and he's putting in some cracking drives.

You could give every player his own thread. Even Tuson was far better tonight but I'd still expect him to make way for Hock next week.

Brilliant from everyone tonight, Finch's kicking would probably have tipped it for me tonight as MoM, but maybe just because the pack was so effective as a unit making it hard to pick one.

Been saying so for quite a while. If Hock goes to prop and Hoffman leaves he will be a very important player for us in the coming season. If the Hoff stays the competition for places can only be good and any player who fancies taking HH's slot will have to be very good.
