Maguire is class. I have never seen him get drawn in by the media. He doesn't look to play the media or any of that rubbish. Just gets on with the job at hand like a true professional, which sets the example for his players to emulate.

Leeds are doing a great job of developing a siege mentality ahead of the game. That's our best chance. At the same time Wigan are probably doing what's best for them by keeping quiet. But when it comes down to it, the game will be won on the pitch not in the press, so come Saturday it will all be irrelevant. I don't particularly thing that Maguire has pulled some sort of masterstroke by keeping quiet.

No, you're right. It would have taken a complete fool to try and wind the opposition up before a game as important as this.

He's done the right thing by his team though and that's what is most important. He certainly, regardless of the result, comes away with more class & dignity than Jamie Peacock or Doctor Evil.

I don't think Leeds should have been so outspoken - particularly Jamie Peacock. The comments with Phil Clarke are separate and are unrelated to Wigan, but Peacock's comments are foolish and asking for trouble IMO. He has called two of our players cowards - wont bother them one bit - but he has said that "he is sure that our lads will remember it" or something along those lines. This is idiotic IMO. He is suggesting to me that Leeds will look to dish some out as a sort of revenge. I think this is foolish, Leeds need to maintain their discipline and follow the game plan of their coach if they are to win the match. His comments don't allow for that.

Of course I expect you to argue the exact opposite and defend Peacock's comment to the death. I can't be bothered seeing a thread going 24 pages long with the same petty arguments. It makes for an intriguing match and one the neutral will enjoy.

To be honest, as a Leeds fan, I think our players have taken it too far with the comments and should have stopped a while ago. There is no need to come out with statements that have no real purpose or affect on the opposition.

. I couldn't care less what he said to be quite honest. But if they think all this will get under the skin of the Wigan players then so be it. But regardless of the result on Saturday night, we'll never know the effect these 'mind games' have on the outcome.
