I cant see that happening, it's 20 miles from the Stoop to Stratford with one West of London and the other East.
St Helens are moaning about going to Widnes next year so cant see the Quins fan base, which I assume is mainly located near the stoop, travelling that far.

So true. An absolutely ridiculous suggestion.

| I've never understood why the Broncos/Quins etc haven't been marketed as London Aussie or something similar (similar to the Rah Rah London Irish) and signed a few big name Aussies. There's a huge antipodean population only a few miles away in West London that don't seemed to have been considered. You only have to look at the attendances when Australia play a 4 Nations game there or the attendances at the Stoop for the World Club Championship games all those years ago to know there's something there if people used a bit of imagination.

| Quote king warrior="king warrior"I hope they get kicked out the league and fold nothing but charity cases
I know many people wont like that statement but it's true the reason they was brought in to expand rugby there crowds are a joke and there away support is (too much for there fans to travel up here near every week) but thats for obvious reasons'"
Probably the most stupid, short-sighted comment in the history of RL Fans. Congrats.
There are more children playing rugby league in the South East of England than the North West. Why? Because of the Quins RL brand and their community coaches.
How many schools from Wigan & Leigh Service Area were in the finals of the Carnegie Schools Cahmpionships this year? None. Wigan & Leigh, the RL hotbed.
How many from London? 2.
If we don't have a SL club in London, then there is an incomplete pathway for these kids. Quins have used 10 homegrown players this season in SL, more than most clubs.
They had a horrendous start with injuries which has really rocked them this season, otherwise they would have been pushing for the play-offs.
Quins (or a SL club in London) are a critical part of the sustainable growth of rugby league, as are Crusaders, Catalans, Gateshead, London Skolars, South Wales et al.
Unfortunately for the people who are doing some outstanding development work around those clubs, some muppets in the RL heartlands think that the development of our sport is based solely upon the crowds of 1 or 2 clubs.

If its working so well we have nothing to worry about and it will be good news....
If you read KW other posts he advocated a proper expansion rather than this half hearted attempt we have now , i mean Fulham have been round since the 80's then london crusaders, broncos, quins , they might have some school and amatuer interest and 10 homegrown players in the team , but they have failed to attract the crowds and the RFL have failed to grow the game , and seriously do you feel the same when quins are on sky sports or do you feel slightly let down?
No one is saying kick them out , but if you keep it as it is then youll be debating the same thing in 20 years about the same crowds and a failing team etc etc

Half-hearted attempt? A proper expansion?
Proper expansion is exactly what is going on at the moment. A comprehensive schools programme, a massive increase in junior rugby league at community clubs, increased participation in FE and HE, increased participation at Open Age, scholarship programmes, U18's and U20's, a Championship 1 club and a SL club.
Quote doc999="doc999" i mean Fulham have been round since the 80's then london crusaders, broncos, quins , they might have some school and amatuer interest and 10 homegrown players in the team , '"
You're making my point. As Fulham, they just imported players from up North and hoped to get a crowd on. Some school and amateur interest? It is growing far faster than any other region.
Quote doc999="doc999"but they have failed to attract the crowds and the RFL have failed to grow the game , and seriously do you feel the same when quins are on sky sports or do you feel slightly let down?'"
The crowd isn't the key. After years of trying to get the crowds up at Quins/Broncos/Fulham with nothing underneath, the 'fur coat and no knickers' policy has been replaced by a proper sports development model. It will take many years before there is much noticeable difference to the crowds.
Quote doc999="doc999"No one is saying kick them out , but if you keep it as it is then youll be debating the same thing in 20 years about the same poop crowds and a failing team etc etc '"
That is exactly what both you and King Warrior said. With the changes implemented over the last few years, things will be entirely different 20 years from now, as long as the flat earthers don't get their way.
Rugby league faces 2 choices: expand or die!

Put your handbag down dear. Why the number of posts I've made should have anything to do with it God only knows.
Fans debating something on an internet forum and the CLUB ACTUALLY DOING SOMETHING as I suggest are two completely different things - if you need that explaining to you I suggest you go back and actually read what I wrote instead of swinging your handbag about.

| Being fair though Doc, as a Leigh fan, isn't going to be pro expansion because it just shoves Leigh further down the pecking order.

hehe , not at all
Leigh are nothing to do with this , I also dont think Leigh could sustain being a super league club either and we have found our level in the modern day game .
London are no different , yet the rest of the league suffers having to subsidise them , I also didnt mean kick them out I meant ifd they are not self sufficient let them go bankrupt or fold up or even drop to the first division, they can still carry with there youth programme in this division . If you read my post it said 2 teams in London for rivalry , 1 midlands, 1 cumbria and thinking about it Newcastle could be a good spot aswell. but to say after 30 years of trying that everything is different now and things will be different in another 20 is a pipe dream.
