| Quote thepriestman85="thepriestman85"He really needed to step up on Friday and put in a beast of a performance. With Coley out Stu neeeded the kind of individual performance we've seen for Graham this season.
Sadly he's just not good enough to lead the team on his own.'"
Hold on, he was up against 2 international props and was expected to handle them himself? Maybe Coley is to blame more than Stu as he was the one banned and not there to back up his team.

| I am a big fan of Fielden and think he has been very good all year, bar the odd game.
However I don't think he helps himself by constantly rubbing the opposition up the wrong way, especially when trying to rub it in when an opponent makes a mistake. I think it makes him even more of a target and also makes him look a bit daft when he comes up with a few errors!
In my opinion he simply needs to focus on his own game because when he's on, he's a huge asset.

I mentioned this in another thread.
It made him look like a t*at basically.
He laughed in Morley's face when Morley knocked on in the first 5 minutes or so.
Then Fielden got knocked about like a rag doll and made handling errors, and got hammered in a lot of tackles.

| Is it just me (or from just where I was sat for some reason) but Fielden looked like Lockyer compared to Prescott on Friday?!?! Shocker. Much poorer game than Fielden who also had a comparitvly uneffective game, yet i've not really seen it being mentioned?!?!!

| Looking at the team sheets before the game i was extremely concerned about the way our front row compared to theirs. I have no confidence in Fielden or Prescott's ability to match the big 8's and 10's in the league. I'm tired of hearing it but its true, since Willie Mason embarrassed him in front of the RL world Fielden has not recovered, he simply is no longer in the same class as Morley, Peacock, Burgess etc.. Prescott is a big guy who has plenty of balls but to me he is just cannon fodder.

Let's not get into the whole Coley ban saga again.
ATEOTD when the chips are down you expect your most highly paid prop to get the game by the scruff of the neck. It's what guys like Faz used to do and what Morley and Graham would have done.

Exactly. Fielden has improved this year but that really wasn't that hard after the gash season he had previously. He doesn't have the same impact as he did at his prime whereas the likes of Morley/Peacock etc got stronger and stronger. Friday was the opprtunity for him to stand up and drag the kids forward with a performance but sadly didn't happen. Fielden is a "steady" prop now. will get you a few yards and make a good amount of tackles but won't command a game. Whether Lima can do that next year and let fielden keep trundling on i don't know but IMO i'd allow him to leave and bring someone else in.

| There is no excuse for the knock-ons. However I think some of us, and sometimes him, believe he is an enforcer like Morley.
Is he bugger. It's no coincidence his performance on Friday night was similar to those he put in before the other forwards pulled their socks up. Ironically with the pack we are assembling for next season, we shouldn't see a repeat.

Yeah but the fact is Coley got banned and was the one who wasn't there, so really he let the team down.
i think that if it was Coley and Prescott playing then it would have been the same story.
Prescott was awful too. And why constatly compare him to Morley, everyone knows he's not as good anymore, move on he had one bad game attacking wise.

Coley doesnt go missing like Stu does . Coley let himself down with the suspension more than anyone else. Stu should have upped his game but failed miserable in my opinion. I do agree that its just one game and on the whole Stu has been solid recently. Prescott was great in the first half but poor in the second.

| How is Fielden supposed to handle three experienced props effectively on his own. A very important player for us. Does a lot of the hard work without the plaudits.
