The club doing it is one thing but the players should be applauded for that. Shows a bit of sympathy for the supporters. I wish a few of those wearing cherry&white would have done the same in recent years and showed they were hurting when losing 75-0 at Saints or 34-4 at home to Huddersfield or 57-16 at Cardiff.
I was at the Millennium Stadium (like many others) in 2008 and that day hurt more than any other (even 75-0) but we got nothing except a gesture to "put humpty dumpty back together again!"

Mine as well and it was a classic example of our team showing no remorse.
What had happened [url=http://wigan.rlfans.com/news.php?readmore=546six weeks earlier[/url should have left them embarrassed and had them all fired up for that magic match but we saw no reaction what so ever. They put the surrender flag up before kick off.
Just looking back at [url=http://wigan.rlfans.com/news.php?readmore=571my report[/url great pre match quote from Sean O'Loughlin read "we’ll be going all out to put that right." Hmmm! Talk is too cheap!
That's the kind of thing that needs to change and I think will change from next season. When we lose it needs to hurt the players as much as it hurts us. |

That was my low point as well, being the last game of the weekend having to walk out at the end of the game with the Mrs and couple of mates and their kids while having abuse shouted in our faces was not pleasant at all.
The year before was bad at Cardiff ,and i was at both the saint and leeds nil points games and had lost a close family member just prior to the saints game , but that last Cardiff game was shameful.

The one thing Wigan Athletic have managed to do since coming into the premiership is battle and scrap and have hardly ever taken 4,5 or 9 goal beatings until this season. Any team worth their salt would offer the fans their money back after that shambles.
As for our shambolic preformences over the years I was most hurt by that Huddersfield one you mention. They totally give up that day and then had the nerve to come out with bol*ocks after the game like 'it's just one of those things' and 'it can happen in superleague nowadays' instead of admitting any blame.
Hopefully thats the sort of attitude the new coaching set up can change. If we have a shambolic preformence like that, the saints ones or the Celtic one i'd like to hear the players come out and take some sort of blame whilst being determinded to turn it around. In truth i'm hoping those sort of shoddy, half hearted preformences have gone.'"
Does anyone think the players had a say so on this? ANyway, on a much lower scale (or maybe not  ) didn't millward do this in F+B's and make all the players pay for there own food(Kris Rads book) this caused a load of problems behind the scenes. |
