He's the most underrated player in Superleague, even by some of our own "fans".

Where are all the knockers now?

He is playing superbly at the moment. I doubt he will win the MoS, the anti-Wigan RL establishment will never allow it as we saw with the Roby/Barrett fiasco, but frankly with the awards to players like Wellens that trophy is tainted and pretty meaningless.

Much more important is what the Wigan fans think of him and what I would like to see is people getting behind our captain. We're still in the cup but we have an extremely difficult 2nd half of the league season ahead of us with poor coaching, team selection etc. None of the failings of this season are his responsibility.

We are going to need Lockers more than ever if we are to salvage some pride from this season.

We need to support him. He is a very, very good player and totally committed to the cause, he's more of a lead by example than vocal captain but any captain of a successful team needs other senior players to support him - Edwards, Bell and Hanley didn't do it on their own (ok, Faz did at times but we'll never see his like again and people need to get over it).

Lockers is a Wigan lad and you can see what the Cherry and White means to him. He deserves our support.

Rubbish!! Never a Captain!! Too many penalties!! Knocks on all the time!! Anyway, enough about Fielden, The captain was superb again last night, an absolute joy to watch as he has always been!!

I agree he was superb last night along with Tommy. Sean seems to be maturing of late and seems far more confident on the pitch, in both his play and his manner dealing with the ref and trouble on the pitch etc.

I hope he continues going from strength to strength and becomes a 'great' captain like the usual names mentioned.

Cant see it, he aint big enough. his skill is breaking the line out wide (good to see this year!) and crunching hits up the middle.

Put it this way, he deserves credit because I'm sure he was the only player who didn't slip last night!

Iv been one of his knockers in the past, but this season he's been outstanding. Our best player by an absoulute mile.
