| Quote: {Hogan} "If he is homesick, then do what most aussies do, fire off over there in the off season, which he did at the end of last year for 3 months.
He will be targetted in the press when he goes back, and i hope for his sakes he can take it. They will be looking at every angle of his game and picking out the bad parts. That i think he can handle, its his off the field life that got him into trouble at Parramata, in Wigan he can basically do what he likes on nights out and no one really cares (apart from a few player obsessed fans who post on here).'"
Very true.
Still a very big decision he has to make i would like him to stay here for another 12 months as personally i think he needs a little more time to prepare himself for the media onslaught that will come when he go's home i feel that 18 months is not long enough to get his mindset right but only time will tell.

| I would like to keep hold of him for 1 more year at least if he can maintain his current form for the rest of the year. I think he has started to bed in and also i think there will be some pretty good halves coming off contract at the end of 2010, probably superior to the players coming off contract this year.

| Has Smith got any previous convictions? Is he going to be able to renew his visa?
FWIW I think the lad wants to go back to Oz and challenge for rep honours.

No, it was his illness that forced him over here.

| Get the lad through to the end of the year and let him go. He's served a purpose if he keeps this form up and fair play to the lad he hasn't causes us any problems.
Funny thing is he looks happy on the pitch at the minute and settled within the side. The other guys seem to really like him via their reactions to him so i don't think we can totally rule out the possibility that he's happy here.

| It's no surprise that Tim Smith is in his best form at this time. IMO Gleeson has been the real reason for Tim's rise in confidence. Gleeson has been better defending than attacking so far, and Tim has benefitted from this cover when on that side. Without fans getting on his back for poor tackling, Tim has gone from strength to strength, and we have witnessed the results in the last 3 games.

I didn't think he was poor. Given the wind his kicking game was OK and he sent half the Wakefield team the wrong way for Fielden's try. He switched the direction of play and at least half the Wakey team were going the other way when Fielden scored what was IMO the game breaking try.
As to Gleeson he snuffed out several breaks on his side of the field and I thought he defended very well.

dont think that was intentional though one of our players was going mad and timmy was shruging his shoulders after that pass - think it was a very lucky try

I think your right with that tbh.
I think Smith knew nothing was on so he gave it Fielden to take the tackle. If that was a planned move, then its a new one, Fielden was stood still when he took that, and certainly didn't expect it.

| Re. the Fielden try;
My take on it was that he was expecting a runner on his left, and here was only Tommy there, so he turned the ball back inside - which is probably why it looked so well disguised.
He then turns back to his left criticising the runners not realising Fielden was about to score - we'll even Fielden was suprised!
