I'd say it's been at least 5-6 weeks since he played a competitive game, if not more, so throwing him straight back in would be a risk. Although throwing him back in against Wire in the Cup might be an even bigger risk so it's definitely a tricky one. Depends on who is available for selection out of our current props I guess. If Lima, Mossop, Coley and Prescott are all good to go then we can give Cross a chance to get his legs back in the u20's

| His dirty tactics will fit right in with the likes of Jeff, Sean, Joel and Chris.
Honestly though, he isn't the player he was in the NRL, and you cannot coach a good player to be bad, he has come over for the paycheck and put minimum effort in so far, and that is why he was no longer in McDermott's plans, you've just given him an extended paycheck, as have widnes. He'll continue to give away too many penalties and for that, i'm happy.

you don't want some lube, sitting on cross' johnson must be wreaking havoc.
i really dont think cross is all he was made up to be by leeds, and same now. i wouldn't be happy had we signed him, and im being honest, i have no reason not to be. (Wigan bias aside )

Seeing you obviously know more about Ben Cross than MM and all at our club, would you be interested in putting your name forward for the vacant coaching position at Wigan, your insight is being wasted on these forums.

I'd be interested to know if you watch the NRL? If so how can you question Cross as a player who was fantastic only last year for the Knights. If you don't watch the NRL then how can you possibly judge Cross on the handful of games he had at a declining Leeds?
Lets face it none/hardly any of their 'superstars' are ripping up the SL.
Considering no one knows how much Cross is on at Wigan, there can't be any questioning if he's worth the money, even before he plays.
For me we have signed a player who MM has worked with twice before, a prop who was last year ripping up the best rugby comp around.
Considering the above I welcome Cross and hope he contributes to successes in both the SL and CC.

I do and he was far from fantastic, no civonaceva(sp) or thaiday for example. He was an okay forward over there, nothing more, nothing less, so to describe him as fantastic is laughable given the wealth of talent available over there and how pathetic his performances for leeds have been. You are right, if you are paying the price for cross that moved o leeds then youll have a big hole in the pocket, but if your paying for what he performed like at leeds then you are all right and an extra player who is as experienced as he is then it could be a bargain. But probably shouldnt judge until he's made an appearance for you.

Read your own post, you dont just give opinions you state facts, he is not the player he was, he only wants a paycheck, he puts in minimum effort, he will continue to give away penalties...........do you not believe a club like Wigan and a top coach like MM have considered the other options before signing Cross ?, as you say you can have an opinion, but dont give it as fact, maybe use IMO a little more.

Disagree. Even with such outstanding forwards in the NRL Cross was excellent for the Knights. I will be more than happy if we see 'the Cross of the Knights' when playing for the champs.

The Cross Of The Knights? Sounds like a Black Sabbath song circa 1982
