| Pryce is coming back from about two years out through injury so his level of fitness was always going to be a problem at first. Due to this he is being played in the reserves to give him game time to build up his fitness levels over this season with a view to him getting more first team chances next year. He has been playing well for the reserves and has as I have mentioned before been used at 6 in a few games and did well in that position too. On friday he did well and was a real problem for the Quins as although he didn't always bust through tackles (speed hitting the tacklers is limited by his fitness at the moment, no sense in going hell for leather but having to go off after half an hour, he had to pace himself to play the whole game) he always had 2 or 3 men needed to stop him and this creates gaps that the team can exploit. Next season when he can hit the line at full whack he will be one of our better attacking players.
In regard to Goulding one thing I always noted about him during games was that he hardly ever passes to his winger. This would often end an attack when a pass to the man outside would have got us many more metres and often a try. Whether this is through poor decision making or a selfish attitude is anyone's guess but I think his time at Salford may help him to improve this aspect of his game which for me was a major flaw. My reasoning for this is that he has played on the wing at Salford where he is on the other end of such situations. This should help him to realise how valuable a pass out to the winger from a centre can be as he will recieve the pass and score tries/ advance the attack. When he then does not get a pass he will be annoyed at his chance being wasted. This should make him look to give the pass in these situations when playing at centre rather than hold the ball and lose the opportunity. This should mean him coming back as a better player than when he left on loan.

| I personally thought Pryce played ok on Friday, better definately than his previous outings for the 1st team.
He might not have been bursting through every tackle but you watch and he bounced the 1st man off almost every time and a few times has a hand free for an offload.
As for Goulding I think we should get him back for a while when his loan spell is up and see how the experience has paid off. You never know, he might look like a more complete player from it all.
Plus he will have more chances because we were spreading the ball both ways on Friday for once, a new dimension thats developed since Hock has been missing.

| I don't really rate Goulding, yes he is ok and decent going forwards but his defence is nowhere near good enough if we're going to be a title-challenging side.
When Gleeson was brought in, the defence on that right-hand side improved dramatically.

| When Pryce is taking three men to tackle him and is first off the floor that's 3 players who can't make a tackle 'cos they are not 10 yards back.
One time he bust through three and the fourth guy got him by the ankle. Pryce again was first off the floor and Quins with four taken out were all over the place.
If Pryce can take that many with him and be quick off the floor, Tommy and Sam will cause havoc to any opposition defence and that's what we want.
Pryce is worth his place IMO, his fitness will come. We may need to play Gleeson elsewhere do to the number of injuries now.

If you don't bother to go to the game when you live in the locality then you are not really a fan and therefore your views are invalid. It's simple.:icons39ad_files/4821-1859san_c-msnicons.jpg |

Agree with this. Plus if he comes infield to help the forwards, he could be quite a handful... but as has been suggested, we need to see how fit he can get.

| Fitness is definitely the problem with Pryce, not his ability. He can certainly finish, he is very creative with his hands, has a good short kicking game and can tackle.
But what is happening about his fitness, this stops him form showing his undoubted skills. Unfortunately he is not alone in this respect. I can't think of another Super League side with players as seemingly unfit as Pryce, Feka, Riddell and Tim Smith. I hear in an interview with O'carroll that he comes in early with Feka for extra training, but we are now entering the run in the the end of the season fitness shouldn't be an issue except for injury reasons.
Come on you conditioners lick them into shape PLEASE.

Pryce & Feka need a lot of work, but you would have thought this would be obvious to the conditioning staff.

What was wrong with Fekas fitness on Friday?
He gave Quinns a torrid time when he came on
He's an impact prop, he isn't going to play 60 - 70 minutes a game.

Yeah, he played well on friday, but if he was slightly more "in shape" I think he could improve his effectiveness. Do you believe he is as fit as he could be?

Take your point about him being an impact prop, but I still reckon that he is unfit even for that role. He would do much better by putting himself in deeper positions so he can gain some momentum, for no matter how big you are, you are not going to make much impression by getting the ball from a standing start just a few yards from the defensive line for the vast majority of the time. He makes much more yardage when taking the ball on the run but I just don't think that his fitness is up to that. I don't really want him to do 60 or 70 minutes but be more effective when he is on the field.
I agree that he much better on Friday though.

Maybe but I thought he was no more than OK against Quins for the minutes he plays.
In 2006/2007 Feka was far quicker, leaner and meaner.

| He needs a kick up the backside.
Even at his current gross weight he's a good player but he could be one of the best props in the world.
When you look at pictures of him in his first season here to now you see the difference in him bigtime.
If he shedded about a stone to a stone and a half he's be so much better.

| Thought Pryce was lazy for large spells of the game off the ball, and remember Sam T hanging off some guy in our 20 while Karl just loped past without giving a hand.
Hope he gets fitter and becomes the player some here seem to think he'll be.

| used to watch him as a kid at bradford and fitness has always been his problem. 10 yards form the try line 9/10 he'll go over but don't expect him to drive it out from under his own posts to help the forwards out. He looked like he was fastened to a rope against quins. 5/10 yards from the touchline up and down the pitch. Didn't see anything that would make me want to see him get another contract.

You on about Feka or Pryce
For me in all seriousness thought I could see pryce filling a void in the pack at the moment with all the injuries.
His fitness is lacking and centre gives him the option to have spells off and take a rest.....Stick him in the pack (hes big enough) and he'll either sink or swim...hes got the size and talent to be a class player but i get the feeling you have to force it out of him with pryce....sticking him SR wouldnt give him an option to laze around and go missing and either we'd unearth a monster, or if he fails to perform at least we can properly find him out and get shut for next year
