| Our forwards just barrelled over them in both games. Dominated in defence most of the game.

| Just out of interest for anyone who went, how did Reece Lyne go because i read that he was poor last week as well.

Did okay Aussies found it very hard to get him down at times.
Scoreline flattered them tonight IMO England were miles better all over the field

39110_1363272058.jpg Dropkick Murphy..we actually saw and heard a mass of bouncing and scarf and flag waving to Dale Cavese that drowned out anything we could muster.. It stopped us singing our own celebratory songs, it died out seconds later when we accepted we couldn't be heard over the Wigan lot
Celebrations muted from us, job done from them. Most fans who slag them off are jealous their own club's support is nowhere near that good
-
sally cinnamon..Why not discuss Wigan? It's a rugby league message board. Wigan are the most famous brand in rugby league
-
Tre Cool..Saints fans are hopeless unless it's a cup final or grand final. Wigan fans are so much more loyal and passionate
-
the flying biscuit..Wires havent been massively succesful over the years, but I've spoke to Brian Bevan And he spoke to me and i wouldnt swap that for Wigans History, ever
-
Ande..on the TV i could only hear the Wigan fans with about 10 to go
-
Saint94..Every team is in your feckin shadow, we all know

Had a good game he made some really strong runs and caused a a few problems. His legs remind me of Henderson Gill.

| Quote: MattyB "Just got back home. It was a VERY enjoyable game, well worth the £3 admission fee.
Attendance 980. Pretty good atmosphere as we were all sat in the one stand.
The Wigan lads all played well I thought, especially Sam Powell in the first half (great 40-20 and a well taken try), Danny Bridge was very strong as well.
Other notable mentions were Rhys Evans, his only error was in the first few minutes when the Aussie scrum half left Evans in no mans land on a running arch, which led to the the Aussies taking the lead 4-0. Also thought our props Burgess & Krasniqi played very well.
England were always in control of this game, even having a try disallowed for a forward pass when we were 26-4 up. That would have killed the game off, but the touchjudge thought otherwise.
Might have to take in a few Academy games at Orrell next season cause I really enjoyed it!'"
Good assessment Matty. Feared the worst when the Aussies saw off our early enthusiasm and showed the sort of class that every Kangaroos side does with a 60m try out of nothing, but they had no chance once the English forwards got on top. Some tough paper rounds on both sides though after seeing the size of some of those lads!

Especially that Aussie Number 12. Schoolboy? He looked about 30..!!
He got a good crack in a thumping tackle midway through the Second Half, but fair play he limped around a bit before getting on with it. Think he scored from close range soon after as well.

The number 10 who was spoiling for a scrap and then put in a great ball for the last Aussie try was a big lad as well. Some top sledging with the fans from him and the scrum half as well.

| A very enjoyable night the stand out players for me: Russell, Powell, Lynne, R. Evans and O'Brian. Though my personal MOM was Powell, troubled the Aussies all night and combined well with O'Brian special mention to Evans and Thompson who both scored a great try apeice plus Matty Russell with him as fullback i can see why Wigan didn't mind losing Vievers i'd also like to see if anyone could catch Ryan King if he got some open space ahead of him i'd wager very few could catch him. Also managed to spot a few familiar faces Phil & Colin Clarke, BJ. Mather, Agar, Fitzgibbon, Luke Burgess, Chris Bridge plus a few of the Wigan lads Davies, Farrell, O'Carroll and some of the reserves/U18's.

That would probably be Tia Kilifi who plays for Penrith Panthers, he's very highly regarded too.
Does anyone know if Madge was at the game ?

Madge was at the game. He was with Wane in one of the boxes at the top of the stand.

| When do we get the chance to play them over there , that will be a real test as the aussies are being asked to come over here in sub zero temperatures its like us going over there and playing this time of the year with a afternoon kick off, saying that we have beat the aussies so should be shouted from the rooftops.

It'll be in two years time (2012)
The Aussies sent us up to the sweltering heat of Townsville and humidity (IIRC) for the first game in 2008 and we got a real hiding. In the second game it was much closer (Ainscough was the standout player) and the referee wasn't exactly neutral.
Rogues in whinging Pom mode.
The Eclipse will be in a better position to comment on those games.
