| The storm damaged posts which seemed to go unrepaired for weeks on end including an embarrassing appearance on Grandstand!

| Has anyone mentioned Tommy God scoring the last ever try there?
If so it's always worth a mention again
I'm watching the tape now
There were some very poor players on show that day for both teams.

Tommy Martyn was one of them.
The Saints halfbacks were overplayed by Clinch and Chester.
Jason Robinson was superb.

They couldn't see because of fireworks? How did that work? Were the fireworks on the pitch or just really distracting?

Tommy God produced 2 flashes of genius just the same as Robinson did the pass out of the back door to Sully was pure class. Just a shame he never brought his kicking boots.
Central Park 1 minutes silences were louder than the noise when Tommy went over for that last try

| Being 15 i only vaguely remember cp but the one outstanding memory i have was Wigan vs Bradford 97/98 season the 1 in the rain. i knew after that game that Wigan was for me. My grandads garden still has central park turf in it, a proud souvenier.

| as a guest at the JJB Last night i have to say like the Halliwell jones the facilities are much better at our new grounds but you cant beat the old places can you ?
Central Park was my second favourite ground.
Whether it was a locker cup pre season friendly -(Later scrapped due to their un friendly nature) or a tough league encounter which we often lost or the Premiership semi final that we won when Paul Bishop banged over five drop goals for a laugh, they were the best games in a season without doubt...
newer Wire fans are trying to create Wire Widnes Derbies as something special they never will in my eyes...theyve never been to Central Park probably....
We did manage to beat Wigan there occasionaly and we even beat Saints there 16-0 in a lancashire cup final!
but my best moment was doing the conga round the posts after we beat Oldham in the Semi final of the Challenge cup in 1990. (you tonked us in the final .....swines..... )

| Never saw Leeds beats Wigan at Central Park
Best memory was beating Saints in 94 in semi to make CC final, in which we lost to some other team from Lancashire whose name I just cannot seem to recall right now....
