I went to the game but my 6 year old son didn't. He was asleep before I left the house. We had a late night on the Saturday and he had a busy day on Sunday. I perhaps should have woken him up and had him crying during the match and absolutely useless at school the next day. Or maybe I should have canceled all the fun things he did on Saturday and Sunday just so he'd be awake and ready for the match on Sunday night.

Not being funny mate but making your daughter book one evening of quality time with her dad weeks, if not months, in advance isn't going to win you dad of the year so I wouldn't worry about the effects of cancelling it. I'm sure you could squeeze an hour or two in for your daughter this side of Christmas if you have to, just avoid the 10th October just in case. |

Bloody hell, i knew for definite that we were playing Castleford only after we got beat by Hudds on the 13th (so what, 9 days in advance) after i'd already made plans.
Oh and I didn't make her do anything, she asked me to do something on that particular sunday, and to be honest, i'd have spent the time with her fecking rugby match or not, final or not.
I'm sorry but I don't cancel anything with my daughter when I have control over the situation, nice that you just also assume she's around every single day of every week.
This is utter BS having to try and defend myself.
I'd give my life for my lass, would you do the same for Wigan RL?
