Good evening Charlie, sorry to be late answering your post, I myself will be catching the train from Atherton so there is a chance Salford lad will be on the same train,
What worries me if perchance there is a bar on the train we will not get off before Southport which is the end of the line.

Some of the comments from the leythers (01942, WN7) on here are comedy gold. Next time you get paid, if you work, no doubt it's at the British heart foundation or a butchers stall (because that's all there is in Leigh) just remember, all that HARD EARNED TAX is going towards our lovely new shopping centre to replace the galleries. But don't ever say we don't give you anything, last year, we donated wigans Christmas lights from 1976 to you and even let you have your very own nandos!!!

I have the pleasure of working in Leigh, and can honestly say, it's the strangest place iv ever been to, and the most bitter. As iv said before, if your into music played by a bag head with a flute, charity shops and a 1/2 mile queue for methadone on sunset strip, get to Leigh, it's brilliant.'"

Don't think you'll find any Leyther singing the praises of our retail prowess, but in comparison to Manchester, where we all shop-especially Harvey Nichs- Wigan has the same problems.

Although I am Bury born and bred, I do not eat black puddings. When I did eat them I had the ones on offer which were hot with lumps of fat in them, and with mustard. They were usually eaten as a snack walking around Bury market. I am only a Leyther by marriage and have not made many visits to Wigan. I hope we can make the journey without any pit stops.
