Tomkins and Eastmond were class tonight.

Tomkins and Eastmond are players with great potential and could both be stars on the international stage.

Unfortunately though to take on Australia and NZ we are going to need some world class forwards, three quarters and a full-back to play alongside our two brilliant half-backs.... we are looking desperately short of world class talent at the moment.

Can those half-backs really command a game though? Thought Eastmond was a rabbit caught in the headlights on occasion tonight, although a lot of that can be put down to a massive lack of protection from his forwards, especially on the last tackle.

Fair play to Tomkins though, certainly a stand out player behind a pack that bossed the game IMO.

Similar to Sean Long when he was a youngster starting out, but the potential was there for all to see. Eastmond is by no means perfect, and he has a lot ro learn, but the best way to learn is being out there and playing at SL level. He's a rough diamond, but even an idiot wouldn't deny that he is something special. Same with Tomkins, I would say he's a way ahead of Eastmond at the minute, but they both are very exciting prospects. Eastmond's eye for the gap at his age is exceptional. A little more decisiveness and experience and he will be through those like a shot.

I think he'd benefit more from a short spell in the Championship. One that's nice and local as well so it isn't too far to travel.
