The question is, will the RFL do anything about it? Or are they actually desperate for something like the Salford project to be successful?'"
Its best to keep one,s mouth shut and be considered a fool, than open your mouth and prove it.

Cracking business? Just what is he going to spend it on?
What baffles me is why fans think selling your best players is cracking business.

In fairness to the Mad Dr, he did have a good look at the academy side of things and was very clear in that he needs to fund the 1st team for 3-5 years, during which time the academy will be overhauled and will have to start producing players good enough to play SL rugby ..... with that in mind, there is more work being put into developing a strong U16's than the U19's (U20's at the non-SL level they played this year).

Ask Rogues, he is full of reasons why selling your best players, investing more money (presumably over and above the money you would be investing anyway) in "development".
Development which MAY in the future unearth another Sam Tomkins or Gareth Hock......
Oh hang on a minute.......................

The statement was about Hock...are you suggesting we should have kept him?

Having seen us not beat an opposition pack of any note for virtually half a season I'd have been tempted to give it one last go, yes because the money is of little use IMO. Wigan's bank manager won't be breaking any tackles for us anytime soon.
I probably wouldn't have said that earlier and indeed had Wigan just sacked Hock when he did the drugs I could not have argued the club would have been wrong to do that either. Things change and at the moment I'd rather he was in our play off side than not.
I was also making the general point that being pleased we get a big fee for any player baffles me, but then you knew that already

To revisit the OP...
I'd hope the RFL are desperate for the Salford project to succeed. If they're not then they effing well should be. What better way to attract investors to other clubs than for Koucash to succeed?

| Will the ultimate decider on Salford's success or not be the crowds they get?
Hudds have won the LLS and are the best team in the comp. Their crowds are dreadful. Hopefully next season having won something attendances will improve.
Salford need to boost their crowds and 2014 season ticket sales will be a good indicator of where they are starting from. I hope Salford succeed, I really do!

I'm not convinced that success is that big a factor in attracting bigger crowds, although I know that's the popular theory. Certainly our average attendances over the years don't track with our success/failure, and other recently successful teams haven't really seen much of an increase the following season either.
In fact, one theory put forward by supporters of P&R is that relegation battles increase attendances, rather as ours did in 2006 (and which also led to a record attendance in 2007).

Indeed it is Mr Todd. BTW It's a grave accent not a comma to punctuate an abbreviation and a space follows a comma when used correctly. On your way child.

You should learn the difference between a contraction and an abbreviation before giving advice on how to use them. On your way child.

Nevertheless he was correct in that the punctuation was incorrect and in his remedy. What's more it was in response to an attack on him being a "fool".
I think Afewpintslater was totally justified.

Cheers Brett. If you want to join the club though, you have to finish your sentence with a just for the fun of it!
