70's/80's footballers for me were .....Clemence / Keegan / Docherty / Coppull . Not a few part timers battling it out in the Pontins League.

As Stan was a ref then I'm sure a few other clubs would remember him as well. Both are extremely hard working club men etc. but you wouldn't name a stand after them,
Why not the John Brown stand? Only latics player I can name, ever! |

In fact Stan used to give us fitness lessons once in a while back in the 80's, he was at least 60 then, but by god his fitness peed on everyone around!!!! |
