| Whilst membership of this board my only be a small percentage of the club's support it must be reasonably representative as it contains a broad mx of fans. Personally, I find it very hard to believe the figures quoted given the views of a sizeable cross section of the fans.

that is very very true!

| There is the possibility that shirt sales are higher than the equivalent period last year because people were doing their shopping earlier this year to avoid the rise in VAT. I know a lot of people who do their shopping in the January sales decided to buy everything they wanted in the period leading up to Christmas and between Christmas and New Year regardless of how the price would be affected by VAT. Perhaps the sales will be much lower in this month.
Saying that after hating the shirt initially I tried one on and actually grew to like it a lot. I didn't think it was as bad as it looked on the pictures and if anything I started to think it was a very good shirt. I still think the away shirt is awful though.

| I have one, and know others who have also, tbh its been a bit cold to be walking round in a short sleeved shirt, not surprised you have not seen many. when I went to shop just before xmas I saw at least ten sold in 5 minutes so can well believe the figures to be true

| For the first time in my life I think the club have actually lied to the fans! Yesterday around town I saw roughly twenty people with Wigan shirts on but not a one had the new shirt on and if it had sold so well you would think you'd see at least a couple.

I suspect you're wrong on two scores there.
Firstly, I spoke to someone fairly high up at the club the other day, who told me the shirts are selling very well despite the negativity. What was more his body language was very relaxed - it was like "hey, this really isn't an issue".
Secondly, if they have lied, it wouldn't be the first time.

| As ugly as they are, I bet the majority of kids wanted (and got) one for Christmas.

| I'm really pleased it's selling well. Although it may not be to my liking, it's important for the clubs sake that it's successful. After all for those of us who wish to wear a more traditional shirt, the club has catered for that also. Once we start kicking @rse in in a couple of months time the color of Wigan's shirt won't be thought about.

Exactly.
Now as a more mature (old git) I don't particularly like the shirt, or the name Warriors for that matter, but understand that "the club" need to appeal to the younger fans, as that is where future revenues will come from.
As I've said before, the shirt issue, if it really is one, is a minor issue. Keep collecting the wins and it becomes a non issue.

Fully agree. I won't be buying one, but then again I'll prob spend a few £100 on other stuff as usual.

I think you're right. As the amateur season has picked up again since the snow went, I've seen quite a few of the new shirts being sported in the kids' teams during training sessions. Not seen too many being worn by older players, but then some older players are still wearing Norweb shirts.
