| Quote: the wrestler "the difference in response on this forum between a loss in a good match against a 'big' team and a loss in a disappointing match against a 'small' team is quite bizarre.'"
Not really; in both cases the comments focus more on the performance than the results. Most fans are not too upset when the team play well and lose, as happened v Wire for example, but we do get upset when we play badly, whatever the result.

| Quote: Cruncher "Let Cas have their five minutes of fame. For all that this is the most incredible victory in their history, it won't stop them being kicked down to a lower division when the league is restructured.'"
I understand your sarcasm but (unless you have only been watching Wigan for a few years), this isn't even Cas' best victory against Wigan. In fact I can think of 2 better ones - the Regal Cup Final a good few years ago. Nobody expected Cas to win, I think you had won every trophy going for a number of years but it ended up 33-2 in our favour (I think). The play-off victory in 1999 was also a bigger victory as it was the first game at the JJB and we were playing from 5th, again with nobody giving us a chance!
However, it is difficult to argue your last point. The RFL don't seem to like the fact that our small-town club (who refuse to go bust by spending money we can't afford) still compete in the utopia that is Super League. If only we were more like Bradford and Wakefield, willing to leave businesses crippled by not paying them before declaring 'bankrupcy' and chasing the dream by spending more than they can afford, then perhaps our SL future would be safe?

Cas are a great club with a great history. Good to see them on the up. At one time they would beat us time after time in the Challenge cup and it took the 8 in a row run to end that cycle.

As for the picture
It's you who needs to get over yourself. If you seriously think it was Cas who 'made' Paddy knock on over the line, Matty Smith unable to hold on to the ball during a straightforward pass, Blake Green kick out on the full when under absolutely no pressure, play the ball to no one or any of the numerous other unforced errors Wigan made on Friday then you need to get a grip. Or if you think Cas 'made' us have so many injuries we were playing without a single one of our first choice props and were reduced to playing someone without a single game of rugby league at any level under his belt! Fair play to Cas. They were the better team on the night and deserved their win but to suggest they beat a Wigan side at anything like their best is frankly a joke. Cas however did 'make' us play 4 days after the toughest match in superleague this year so by all means take credit for that.

30462.jpg [b:3oz7jfnu]Wigan Warriors coach Shaun Wane told BBC Radio Manchester:
"Some people within the club [Castleford] have come out with comments saying we're beatable and it's a great game for them and they're very confident.
Many of the comments I've heard have been bordering on disrespectful.
They can be as confident as they want, but they're going to get a tough game this weekend and we'll be trying our best to make sure they don't get that win.
We've played in some big games over these last few years and they've not played in as many, if any, so to be that confident is very risky for them.
They come here with confidence because they've scored a lot of points and beaten us at home, but I wouldn't be overconfident if I was them."
[u:3oz7jfnu]Incidentally Wane's mob got stuffed 16 - 4[/u:3oz7jfnu] [/b:3oz7jfnu]:30462.jpg |

I personally think that Wigan's woeful performance spoke volumes about your head coach TBH
Wane thought that all you had to do was turn up and take the 2 points,I think your club will be in a serious spot of trouble winning the big games when Sam Tomkins leaves judging by previous results when he has also been missing

| Well despite all its faults, at least this thread lets us all laugh at lionarmour87's obsession with us on the Whinos board.

33718_1325770967.jpg Games as big as Grand Finals define individuals and clubs. Remember, we only rent these journeys. In my time I had Pat Richard's shirt. Ellery Hanley had Sean O'Loughlin's jersey. Sam Tomkins is wearing Radders' number one jersey. Andy Coley is wearing Shaun Wayne's jersey. You have to make a mark in these shirts before you hand it down to someone else. Hand it back. So be aware for 80 minutes that you are not only playing, but you are also writing history and creating legacy. How many people actually write history - not many? A big stage demands big players…..INSPIRE YOUR TEAM MATES.

I take it you dont know the REAL reason why Cas happened to win that day in the Regal Trophy final.
It has been covered before on this forum, and quite rightly removed due to this country's libel laws.

I thought the real reason we lost to Cas that day was that we played crap and they were good.
Just like the real reason we lost the premiership ist round to Sts in 1985 was because we played crap (not because Brett Kenny's Mrs wanted to go home).
Libel laws are there to stop untruths being pedalled. So presumably the Cas stuff was removed because of exactly that.

Would it be because Cas scored far more points?
I'm intruiged to know this REAL reason, please let me know via PM if it cannot be put on a public forum!

I remember a snow covered Central Park when you came and beat us 17-0. Might have been a Floodlit Trophy game!

| Who are you going to blame next season when Tomkins is in oz. Yes you had players missing but so did we.
1st choice prop: Ben Davies
1st choice centre: Jake Webster
1st choice winger: Justin Carney
When you played us at home Carney made Tomkins look like an amateur at the back he simlpy just ran straight through him. Your allowed to be dissapointed at getting beat by a team missing 3 of thier 1st choice players and yes you only had 4 days to recover but your supposed to have strength in depth? So were is it if thats the case. They call cas a one man team, think they need to apply the same to Wigan and Tomkins by the sound of it
