Leaving aside you havent even signed the guy yet putting someone who has no idea of your gameplan and no noticeable kicking game at 6 with a rookie 7 against a probably pairing of Leon Pryce and Sean Long would not be a smart plan.

| Is long gonna be fit?
Gleeson does have knowledge of the position, he's played there many times before for Wire and for country.
But as I posted, I would sooner have him at 3.
P.S Often the halves move out wide when defending, while this is happening the attacking halves stay relatively centre, so they would never 'face each other'.

As Simon Said I would expect Long to play, Didnt say Gleeson hadnt played 6 - he did do it for Saints too but he doesnt have a kicking game that I'm aware of and knowing how to play 6 is different than trying to play as a playmaker in a team he has hardly even trained for.

Doesn't matter who we play in the halves, our forwards will get dominated.

| It doesn't really matter what side we play against Saints unless the belief is there that we can compete. Even a world class player and leader like Barrett seemed to struggle with the expectations of playing in this game and the pressure that comes with that.
Thats the reason why we can't afford to just throw a load of kids in and hope that sheer passion will see them through. It may get you so far but if thigns start badly we could end up on a real hiding. Imo we just need to try and get our best team out there and hope they grow some balls(and that Saints are still battered from the Leeds game)
I'd go-
Richards
Roberts
Bailey(don't believe the Gleeson deal will happen at all)
Carmont
Ainscough
S Tomkins
Leuluai
Prescott
Riddell
Paleaaesina(can't afford to leave him on the bench with the possibility of him coming on with the game already gone)
Hansen
J Tomkins
O'Loughlin
subs
Fielden
Coley
Hock(keep him out of the fire for 15 mins or so)
K Pryce

What happens when Riddell starts blowing out of his ass after 15 minutes?

I'd put O'Loughlin in there with Tomkins going to 13.
I've thought for a while that Lockers should be used more at 9. I remember him doing very well there for GB a few years back coming off the bench.
It's a position he could easily manage.

Be fair to Riddell
He has upped his game time significantly (goes off arounf the 25 minute mark) and disregarding his poor performance against Huddersfield his form has been improving and he has shown some promising signs

That'd be by my choice only with Karl Pryce not in the 17, ST on the bench and Tim Smith starting.

And he is generally poor when he does so, even the Warrington fans moan when he plays at stand off. Also as far a I recall he has only ever played there once for GB or England. He is never a stand off.
