| I hope Gildart makes a full recovery and Ferres is rightly banned. I do think Wigans medical team and coaching staff have questions to answer though regarding putting him back on the field for a couple of minutes after half time to ensure they didn't lose an interchange. If indeed that was the reason. What could have happened to Gildart if he had been required to make a tackle in the time he was on the field?
Although the extent of the injury was not known at that stage it was obvious to us at the game and tv viewers that he was in a lot of pain and should not have been on the pitch.

It doesn't make sense though, that's not how it works with interchanges.

According to the Wigan Evening Post t'other day, if Gildart hadn't come back on inside of 15 minutes (including HT) he wouldn't have been allowed back on at all, even if he was fit with 30 minutes to go. Can only assume he/Wigan didn't realise how bad his injury was and that he may have boon okay later on.

| Quote Wigan RLFC="Wigan RLFC"Absolute state of this, just absolutely tragic. Poor lads been badly hurt in a nasty tackle and all you're ar*ed about is previous incidents from years ago and comparing players' history to one an another. Get a grip, fella or should i say ya little immature kid.'"
Quite.
I think you'll find the sheer vitriol towards Ferres by a section on here as equally childish. Let's hope that this isn't referred to when the next bad tackle happens. Like the infamous McGuire incident.
Speedy recovery to Gildart.

Gildart wanted to see if he could play through it, he jogged onto the pitch and realised he couldnt. Hardly surprising with the injury he has, but it just shows how tough rugby league players can be, sometimes to their detriment.
Any Leeds fan trying to defend Ferres need to have a word with themselves, it doesnt matter if we have had players in the past worse or better, the incident being discussed was an absolute shocker from someone with previous for crushers and spear tackles. 4-8 matches is nowhere near long enough for somebody who continually commits tackles that endanger others necks

| Not many on here (if any) backed the Flower incident at all.
Whilst his first punch was forgivable (following Hohia's elbow into Flower's face), but the 2nd punch was totally uncalled for and unnecessary as he'd already laid him out.
Everyone on here agreed it was a straight red and deserved a long ban, which he received.
In fact, there were a significant number of Wigan fans calling for him to be sacked.
There's the difference.

I don't think the 'vitriol' on here is at all childish. I think it is warranted in the light of what everyone, including a lot of Leeds fans, can see was a deliberate act designed to injure another player.
Which is the opposite of the McGuire incident: IIRC that was self inflicted in his act of trying to foul someone (George Carmont I think).
Thanks for your wishes for a speedy recovery.

That's not the case. Even if it was, he could just step onto the pitch then step straight back off.

| Now they're comparing it to the time Danny McGuire got injured in the act of cheating!
I've stayed out of this because I know from experience on here that you can't reason with a percentage of these Leeds morons but that takes the biscuit!!
If this had happened last year or even 4 weeks back we wouldn't have heard a peep. I'm genuinely counting down the weeks until we get to play them with a proper team out (if we do get afforded that luxury at some point).
**just to add there's a few decent minded Leeds 'fans' who've posted on the subject so fair play to you**

there is a percentage of all fans who can be total bell ends behind a keyboard, this wigan forum is tame compared to the other one where the morons reside in greater numbers,
Ps hope Gildart makes a full and speedy recovery, great talent
