| Quote: NSW "Is it me or is Mike Cooper looking old? I loved watching him for Wire, seemed to never have a bad game and looked fit as a fiddle.
Feel he gets out caught of position a lot in defence, getting left on the floor or retreating. Gave Leeds a try in the playoff semi and noticed it a few times tonight.
The point out the 3 not used quota spots in the team is a great one. Vossy kept saying saints had 7 ex NRL players in the team this morning. Not necessarily their best players but all solid contributors.'"
With regard to your third paragraph I have been raising that exact point for a couple of seasons now. Rads needs to get the recruitment right, Rush is doing a far better job at Saints.

I’m willing to put a ton on Wigan finishing above Leigh in the league are you willing to take the bet?

20333_1393344959.gif Current thoughts - Mago out or get running up them plantations, get fit or get rid.
Maybe a back up halfback, someone with a bit of experience on a short term deal.
Big tall strong running second rower, like a McMeekin or Sironen type back rower.:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_20333.gif |

He will be on next to no money and is currently on loan.
We have money to spend, or rather should given Batemans departure so finance’s especially the wage of Silva shouldn’t be an issue.'"
Silva will never make it as a SL player as long as he has a hole in his…..face and Miski though looks the part hasn’t improved, I’d rather player Douglas or Eckersley before Miski so on that basis as well as him being a quota player he needs to go in order to bring in a big strong running back rower, not a Mago/Feka style 1 strong run a game youtube player but a Curtis Sironen, Mark Minichello, Clint Newton style strong running hard working back rower who will punch holes in opposition defence. Faz hits good lines and works hard, KPP brings a good offload game and Ida works hard but we are lacking that punchyness in the back row. Nsemba could provide it but he’s too young to have to rely too much on him.
Hudson Young would be perfect.

Because the other 4 were abysmal. Absolutely bullied by an average HKR pack.

Your coach seems to believe he should learn how to tackle. Then again he does not seem to be as one eyed as you.

| Interesting reading looking at the stats.
The player that seems to have got the biggest slating for his performance was probably our most effective back in Toby King.
Stats also highlight Faz, Smithies, Powell and Smith had stinkers in defence.

I don't know what stats he shows up well in but the stats won't show him failing to challenge SKD for the high ball for the first try, his defensive effort against SKD for the second try may not even count as a missed tackle as he was that far away and he followed it up with a botched offload that led to the third try.
I think he ran the ball in well on a couple of occasions - outside of that it was a stinker. Doesn't surprise me that the stats show he wasn't alone though. It was just a very poor performance - let's hope the players respond to the reality check that Peet acknowledged it was.

| How we use our prop rotation going forward will be interesting. Aside from Mago, we have 5 lads there capable of doing big minutes and I think sometimes we’re running with too many in the 17. If Mago is in the 17, I get going with 5 but If not, I think it should be 4.
I look at Ellis on Saturday and he gets about 20 minutes in the second half. The lad looks as fit as a fiddle and I just don’t see him as the sort of prop who will make a major impact one 20 minute spell. I’d like to see guys like him and Havard being tested in long spells and the props being given a carrot of getting long spells if they perform. It sometimes feels too planned the rolling on and off of the prop forwards.
