| Quote: Stu M "Credit to you and the others who have been gracious with your praise even though you’ll have wanted us to lose.
I just wanted us to be competitive today and if I’m completely honest I thought a win was beyond us. They rarely lose at home and there’s a reason for that.
Welsby was just Welsby. Unfortunately for us it now makes him more sought after. It’s also one in the eye for those who say he hasn’t performed on the big stage as yet.
However special mentions for Percival and Wingfield who were superb and Sironen had his best game for us so far. He was immense.
I thought we got some poor calls in that last 20, the forward pass disallowed try and a couple of others. To win it in the manner we did after conceding in the last minute was superb. Unbelievable character shown and I’m so proud.
Again, fair play to all those wishing us well.'"
Take that comment back please Stu, I wanted Saints to win. Yes, I want us to give you a good hiding when we play you, but I want any SL team to beat the Aussies. What spoiled it for me today was reading that Wigan had congratulated Saints, on there website, before I had watched the recording!

Congratulations from me too Stu. I'm happy for yourself, FTV, Yellow Giraffe and all the other good Saints fans and posters. Shame we'll have to suffer the fools too but that doesn't, and shouldn't, take away from Wigan fans offering their congratulations. You've done the British game proud today.
One final note: if the Aussies are playing the "first game" card they need to suck it up and admit they were well beaten. No one made them go into the game without adequate prep. If truth be told it was the usual Aussie arrogance and it's good to see it shoved back down their throats.

No worries. Just seen that message now on Twitter, nice gesture. At least now we can get the domestic rivalry back and that Wigan v Saints thread can come back to life

One final note
Cheers. The Aussies do know how to get under people’s skin. I loved Walmsley and Lomax giving it to Phil Gould on social media. I’m pretty sure his comments would’ve been pinned up somewhere and formed part of the team talk

| Beating the Australian champions in Australia is the greatest thing any English side can achieve.
This eclipses winning all of those Superleague titles.
Simply incredible, well done Saints!

| Heads went down a little on full time when Penrith scored the equalising goalkick.
The turning point in extra time was when Percival used every ounce of his strength to get himself and the ball out of the in goal area. If he doesn't do that Penrith get the ball back with the chance of an easy drop goal to win it.

Was a pivotal moment for sure
On another note Cas on the handicap may be a good bet for Sunday. I’m not saying they’ll beat us but they won’t lose by much.
Judging by the players social media pics, they’re still drinking now. Not back until probably at least tomorrow then 2-3 days to get their body clock sorted and shake the jet lag off and we’ll be lucky to get two training sessions in before Cas.

Better hand the title back. Lose your first game and the season is over with apparently.

Yes, we spoke about that yesterday. Managed to watch the 1st half on my sons phone and the 2nd in a pub where we had stopped for breakfast on our way to HKR.
Fair play to Saints they were well worth the win, the forward pass decision looked wrong but I haven't watched it back yet, suffering watching the HKR recording today is more than enough suffering for any Wigan fan.
Just off topic, can all of you give Carley Stenson your votes on Dancing on Ice tonight. She is my daughters best friend and has been since junior school. They have sang together, been each others chief bridesmaids, holidayed together etc etc. and Catherine along with her husband Mark with our grandkids Summer and Cian have all gone down to watch Carley tonight.
