Parents can take their kids to the pictures/bowling/McDonalds etc at a fraction of the cost or can buy them a computer game or points for whatever game they play. They need to reduce prices for families IMO.

You're not watching live sport though. Reducing prices has little effect, as has been proved many times (Huddersfield being a good example)
If you reduced the prices by say £5 per ticket you would need increase the attendance to 16 - 17K. Won't happen
A junior season ticket is £30, you couldn't buy a decent computer game for that, and they'd be sick of it within two months. A cinema seat for a junior is around £6. If they want to go McDonalds then they deserve everything they get, is it any wonder we have so many obese kids!!

Reducing ticket prices won’t work at Huddersfield because they’ve only got 2000 fans full stop, that’s including arm chair fans.
Whereas when we do the big one one have adults £10 and kids £5 we get a good attendance.

That's ONE game though, if we did that for a season we'd lose a fortune. Kids for £5 it's only £30 for a season!!

Last 2 years they've reduced the pricing in the east stand and I know my u16 lad and my lad who is a senior student /19 are now both paying far less than it was 3/4 years ago.
So the cheaper south stand tickets (£30 or so for u16s) have been replicated in the east etc.
So that's hardly worked has it?
Our tickets st Wigan IMO like.for like are as cheap if not cheaper equivalent to any other club in the league.
O checked saints process beginning of last year when this same.topic came up, ours were cheaper (think it was the thread Brian were you compared the proces to concert tickets etc.).
Costs me about 53 per game for 2 adults a student and a junior in east stand per game.
How can you beat that?

It’s £66 before food, drink, parking and a programme. Are families going to pay that to come and watch the current team on current form?
Surely the club can do a £40 for the lot ticket?

| A kids season ticket is £40 in South Stand. It doesn’t have to break the bank.

I know, I’m fine. I’m thinking of other people. Our attendances are low, some other poster said they wouldn’t pay £60 for their family to watch this dross and I’ve agreed with it. If a family of non-season ticket holding children want to come and watch a game as a one off, (the fair weather, arm chair or floating fans or new fans) some would be put off and do something else.
But then again it’s all down to marketing again.

You can get a group ticket if there are 10 or more of you, £18 adult, £8 junior.
If you know someone with a season ticket you can get six tickets for £36, (scrum voucher with your season ticket)
Reducing the prices to £40 for a family ticket would severely reduce revenues for the club, why would you buy a season ticket if pay on the day was so cheap?

Another problem we face is we don’t make any money from food and drink when there’s a game on. So getting the fans in cheaply and hoping they get their fill inside and make money off them that way won’t work, we make the money from the ticket so reducing its cost affects us. So we’re snookered.
Like Itchy Arsenal says, they also need to improve the quality on the pitch too.

Which is one of the reasons why Lenagan wants to develop Robin Park Arena. Get the fans to go there pre and post match.
